One summer day after another. We learned of two deaths over the weekend. One was a Lung Transplant survivor for a number of years...her donor gave her many health issues...she spent much of last year in the hospital. She finally lost her battle or won...which ever way to look at the situation. She was such a wonderful support person to anyone on the Lung Transplant List...as she was to us when Far Guy was part of that process.
The other death a neighbor lady. So sad.
Yet the Summer heat rolls on for a couple more days. The skeeters bite and the bear visits the yard every night looking for bird seed. (Far Guy brings it in every night. )
My knee is better but not perfect.
Far Side
Sorry to hear about the deaths.
ReplyDeletePretty flowers and glad your knee is feeling better. :)
Sigh...
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the knee is coming along. And sorry to hear of the recent passings.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of the losses.
Those must be day lilies? Even they can brighten the day with their vibrant colors.
One day at a time.
I am losing many of my friends, too. They had severe health issues and were tired of living. Hope I can stay healthy and die in my sleep. My Sister Patsy used to say— you can’t die cause you want to. She wanted to. I’m still wanting to try and live a meaningful life. Purpose is the key.
ReplyDeleteAs we age it seems (is) that we lose many friends and acquaintances. You will get a couple of days of decent temperatures and then it's going to get hot again.
ReplyDeleteWe've had to hang all of our bird feeders higher because the deer would come clean them out every night. The bear would freak me out. Hope that knee keeps getting better.
ReplyDeleteIt is always rough having deaths to those close to you. And then we have the national deaths we see every week on the news, Richard Simmons and Shannon Doherty were two of the latest. Doherty was a sad one to see as my wife had breast cancer treatment two years ago.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies on the passing of your friends.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a brief cool down which feels great. More heat is expected tomorrow and for the rest of the week.
Love the lilies!
Sigh! Hugs and a big sigh
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the deaths. Two is a lot at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHeat and mosquitoes and death. :-(
ReplyDeleteConsider the flowers and look for a little joy. I do.
Hope your hottest weather soon passes.
ReplyDeleteHugz, Mxx
It is sad when people we know die
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the losses. It is a sad season
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the losses in your community. Beautiful picture of the orange Lillies. Bears and mosquitos....two different sizes, but both are a nuisance. I do hope your knee gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe older we get, the less people are left that we know. My book of remembrances is getting quite full.
ReplyDeleteLovely daylilies- kinda like people. One day they are here, the next one they are gone.
Good idea to bring the bird feeders in for night. Maybe the bear will give up and quit coming around. I hope you ( and we) get a break from the heat very soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your losses. I wonder if the lung transport was worth the additional health issues? I'm sure it was, more time is more time, usually anyway. But I didn't think about the donor providing health issues with their organ donation. It complicates things.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to hear about people you know and love passing away. I call it the last great adventure. Glad you knee is healing.
