Another year

 Well I made it another year!


This was my birthday party in 1955 when I was four years old. Guests were; Corrine, Sharon, Rhonda and my baby brother Carey.  Carey is holding a small birthday cake.  Awesome neighbor lady Lorraine would make a small cake just for the birthday girl/boy...a tradition she carried on for many years. 

Here I am with that special cake.

    The happiest of Birthdays to you Connie! I hope it's a very special one full of love, laughter and happiness. You had a very sweet neighbor to do that for you. Our neighbor lady made my sisters and my wedding cakes. Neighbors were like that back then, weren't they? Almost like family.

    Great photos from the 1950's in black and white. They weren't posed for this shot so the mood is caught. The kids were very happy with the birthday.
