Oh Spring where are you?

Spring where have you gone?  Are you stuck under a snow bank fast asleep?  Did you drown in the ice covered lakes?

IMG_2252

Did you follow that watery path to the center of the lake? Are you just sitting there waiting for the lake to melt around you?

Chance thinks that Spring is stuck under the ice on Height of Land Lake.

Mr. Spring..I just thought that I would let you know you have pissed off some of the shivering snowbirds that have just returned from golfing the entire winter away down south. They are really unhappy with you..if I were you I would keep on hiding until you are ready to come out and stay out:)

Yes, my front yard needs to be mowed, it is so wet that the ditches are full of water, and I had to wear double layers and a coat to walk the dog. The wind chill is below freezing and it is snowing north of us a few miles away. Iowa weather sucks too.

I much prefer to look at the photos in your header picture, as the two in this post are a bit depressing:( One of these days Mother Nature will get her act together, and it can't be soon enough.

You are so funny but so real Connie. I wonder if someone has stolen spring and is trying to pon off winter to you as spring. It isn't funny anymore. I'm trying hard as I mite to send you some warm sunshine to brighten your day.

Spring or not we are currently under a Winter Storm Warning. Blech! Funny how that sounds in Spring! I hope my growing flowers pull through the 8 inches of snow forecasted.

It would be better for us to have some snow and not all of these spring tornado's. We are in for it again today and they like to come at night. We have been watching a web cam of a eagle's nest in
Decorah Iowa and it is covered with snow.

Poor Chance, looking for Spring. I planted some sedums for a neighbor today and I knew I was awfully hot. When I got home and checked, the temp was 87 at 3:30 pm

There were some people in "our" restaurant tonight who were visiting from Michigan. They said it has been one of the worst winters ever up there. They were enjoying the sunshine here in Cleveland a LOT. The wife said they were considering retiring in this are due to the climate and hospitality of the people.

Well, I have no doubt that some day soon you will be complaining about it being too hot and muggy. But for now, we are all wondering why spring is so late in coming!!

Good spring story - I find my blogging ideas getting pretty boring - snow, snow, spring and then more snow!

Great shots - but boy oh boy - it's time for spring to come out and play!

With Chance on "the case" to find the missing Mr. Spring, I'm sure he will be found soon!

I am also "waiting " for Spring. This has ben one cold, long winter. I am tired of all the cloudy skies, rain, snow rain/snow mix and wind. We have rain/snow mix for the last 3 days. Our water levels are very high - to the point that if it doesn't stop raining soon we will flood. Tell Chance to please find Spring!!!!!

I was sure it was here. Then the snow has edged right down to the bottom of the foothills -- and it might have even spit a few flakes in our yard early this morning. Brrrrrrrrr
