Auditions

With the rainy cooler weather came thoughts of Winter and Christmas...I had stamps waiting on my desk...for Winter and maybe a Christmas Card...so I did some stamping and watercoloring.  The jury is still out on the auditions.   I will try a few more techniques before I make a decision.

The project kept me out of trouble for almost the whole afternoon.

I watched a movie on Netflix...  Hampstead.  It was entertaining...I give it an 8 out of 10. Perhaps it is just me but I enjoy movies with older people in them.  It was an easy movie to watch and crochet at the same time.

  1. I love how your refer to it as auditions for your cards! I love your cards and am now thinking of making a calendar and some cards for situations with some of my photography.

  2. I am like you in that I enjoy movies with older people n them. Might be a reason I enjoy watching the Turner Classic Movies channel.

  4. My favorite movies are ones where I can work on another project at the same time, LOL. Sounds like a great day. Hopefully that "cold front" will work it's way here today.

  6. Very pretty cards. You always make beautiful cards, and I'm sure the recipients feel extra love when they receive a hand made card. We're getting a lovely soft rain again this morning.

  7. I like the two cards that you were auditioning. Very pretty stamps. :-). I like older movies too. Hampstead Heath was where Alex and Tara's wedding reception was supposed to take place....before Covid. Now, who knows?
    Have a great afternoon.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. Those look like complicated cards to paint! I like happy movies, though I haven't watch a whole movie in years. I have no attention span.

  9. "Auditions"--lol! Leah and I do that, too--make various samples until we decide on which way to mass produce. I know you will come up with something pretty with a little sparkle. ;)
I love movies with older people in them, too. Haven't seen that one. Thanks for the heads up.

  11. I will take a look at Hampstead. I usually watch Netflix on the weekends. Calling the card experiments "audition" is the perfect word. In the artworld when we do little sketches figuring out what our next painting will be we call them "thumbnails". "Auditions" is a good word for the next step when we redraw our favorite thumbnails with various colors and combinations of objects.

  13. Ohhh I like the one with the bunny and squirrel, though I think the ornaments would be lovely with color :) Your cards / art is always so lovely.

Hope you both have enjoyed a nice day.

  15. We watched Hampstead recently too, but I had to Google it to remember which one it was. We enjoyed it too. There is just something about Diane Keaton that makes me happy.
I'll be interested in seeing what design wins the audition.

Hamstead sounds like a movie I'd like. I must check Netflix.

  20. Hard to believe that Christmas is only a few months away, as we bake in the sunshine.

  21. Rainy days can give you some inside time to do things. It seems strange to hear thunder and have it raining on us. Some is better than none.

  22. I saw Hampstead too and enjoyed it. Here in California I would love to have rain, our drought is continuing and earlier this year fires came very near our city.
