Some progress

 I mailed the Christmas cards yesterday.    Cross something off my list!   The rest of the woodcarved Christmas ornaments will be dropped off this week.  Just local deliveries are left. 

Our weather has been wonderful, some of the snow has melted but I heard that the weather is going to change later this week.  Our high yesterday was 35 F or 2 C eh!

We have to stop feeding the birds, we have three of this years fawns coming in and raiding the bird feeders at night.  They are hungry little buggers.  Our yard is like a super highway for deer. 

I made a couple of lists...not checking anything twice...yet. 

We watched Australia on HBO Max...Far Guy hated it and I enjoyed it.  I give it a 8 out of 10....probably because of Hugh Jackman :)  I watched The Shack yesterday on Netflix I give that a  9 out of 10.

Today is baking day around here...the house will smell great.  Yesterday I made more Chokecherry Jelly and did some house work...boring.   I watched The Bridges of Madison County on Netflix...I had not seen it before...I enjoyed it.  I finished up Virgin River and now I have to wait for a new season!

A Good Movie

 Far Guy and I are watching Vikings Valhalla on Netflix at night.  It isn't as funny as Norseman but still entertaining enough for us...it is fairly violent so it is not for the squeamish.  The special effects and wardrobe department did an awesome job on this series and we hope that there is a second season. 

I keep reminding Far Guy that Vikings are his people...as the Vikings bodies naturally developed Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency because they ate so much fish and would get worms....of course they only lived to be 40 or 50 years old so the effects of Alpha 1 were all positive ...they didn't get worms.  However they did pass their genes on down the line.  Far Guy has both genes, our daughters are carriers and we have one grandson that also carries one gene.   

A few days ago it was rare disease day...since Far Guy is lucky enough to have two rare diseases  (Trigeminal Neuralgia and Alpha One Antitrypsin Deficiency)...I thought I would at least mention it. 

Back to the movies.

Auditions

 With the rainy cooler weather came thoughts of Winter and Christmas...I had stamps waiting on my desk...for Winter and maybe a Christmas Card...so I did some stamping and watercoloring.  The jury is still out on the auditions.   I will try a few more techniques before I make a decision. 

The project kept me out of trouble for almost the whole afternoon.  

I watched a movie on Netflix...  Hampstead.  It was entertaining...I give it an 8 out of 10. Perhaps it is just me but I enjoy movies with older people in them.  It was an easy movie to watch and crochet at the same time.

That yarn

 That yarn that showed up the other day is working up quite nicely.   I work on it in late afternoons and evenings.  

I had a few glitches with the repeating mosaic pattern but those seem to be behind me.  Knock on wood! 

It will eventually be a cover for the front seat of Far Guy's new/old car.   The browns and cream match his interior, the green is a nod to his previous Desoto color and the turquoise just because we though it needed a pop of color.   It is a work in progress.   There is no set pattern to the repeat of the colors...I know kind of crazy for me:)

The yarn is Scheepjes Sport Weight Yarn a blend of Cotton and Acrylic.

Far Guy worked on his new /old car.  Our weather is nice enough to be out in the garage and not freeze to death.  Something about a heat riser that is either stuck open or closed.  We took out the back seat and put a new seat cover on the bottom part of the seat.

   I began spring cleaning the bathroom...I took all the drawer liners out of the drawers and washed them... the rest of the room is deep cleaned...just the linen closet and drawers left to do...and I should wash the shower curtain.  It will take me a few days to complete that room...I may have missed that room last Spring Cleaning. 

By afternoon I was tired so I went to my office (the couch) and watched The Dig on Netflix...I give it a 7 out of 10 stars ...it is based on a true story that takes place in 1939.

Friday night date night went well, the movie Virtuality had an interesting premise escaping into your own mind, computer programs gone wrong, space travel and a reality show. Neither of us appreciated its Alice In Wonderland type ending. I only fell asleep a few times, during the commercials..I hate commercials. We both thought Erik did just great, but this movie lacked depth and a really good team of writers. Far Guy was intrigued with the glasses and wants a pair, I however will just read a book. Far Guy rates this movie a 3 and I give it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Not the worst movie I have ever seen, but a long way from the best:)

Friday night Far Guy and I have a date, at 7PM Central Time we will be on the couch with the TV tuned to FOX. Far Guy is bringing the popcorn and I will grab some sodas. We will be watching Virtuality. It is promoted as a SciFi Thriller..we will see. Far Guy is into SciFi way more than me, but in this instance..I will watch. One of the actors, Erik, was a regular at our house during his early childhood. Yes, I walked the floors with him when he was a cranky baby, and kissed his owies, and even sent him to the corner when he misbehaved. He was very dramatic even as a child, with sparkling mischievous eyes and beautiful eyelashes. It has been very fun for me over the years to watch him grow and mature as an actor, his very first television part was on the soap "One Life to Live" he played a nerdy college kid that ran around with a butterfly net. His voice is very distinctive to me, sometimes I will hear his voice in a commercial..and smile. Maybe this movie will be his big break and it will get picked up as a weekly series.. wouldn't that be great!

In a recent email his Mom shared with me, he says "They even let me keep my beard" His name is Erik Jensen.. that is Erik with a K. He plays the character of Jules Braun in the movie Virtuality. In one of the promotional videos he was asked "What would you bring to space on a ten year journey?" He replied "My wife and my two dogs. "

What would you bring to space on a ten year journey? I of course would bring Far Guy, Chance and my Computer providing that I had an Internet Connection:)
