Town

I had a appointment in town.  Cross another yearly check up off the list! I made a quick trip through the grocery store and the bank.

This is a new mural in town that appeared last summer.  It is at the end of the first block on Main Street on the West side.

Not sure what the story is behind it.  It is a bit larger but there was a car parked in the way.

The Historical Museum is finally getting a new roof.  It must have taken a miracle to get the County Commissioners to agree to that expenditure!

The high temperature yesterday was 49 F or 10 C and we have a frost advisory.  A week ago it was in the 90's.  Minnesota weather is sure fickle.

  1. That is a pretty mural and I am trying to think of where I've seen drawings like that before.
It has a little bit of everything to make a person smile.

  2. Same here. It's unbelievably warm but in a few days it's supposed to drastically change. That time of year, I guess.

  3. It was 35F here this morning. Brrrr. We had the AC on earlier in the week. You're right, the weather is fickle.
The painting definitely has a Scandanavian feel doesn't it? Love the reds and white.
I'm looking forward to our camping trip tomorrow. We're heading east into Iowa this time. And, I'm packing an extra blanket or two!
    Blessings,

  6. A very Scandinavian looking mural. The guy with the pen and pencil in the center cracks me up! :)

  7. I like the new colorful mural on main street. It reminds me a bit of Swedish things I have seen in my old Aunt's house years ago.

  8. We had frost the last two nights, but we had some warmer weather arrive here today so the night should be a bit warmer. I finally got the remainder of the annuals pulled from the containers.

  9. Your historical museum is an impressive building.
That mural, I'm trying to decide if it is Scandinavian or Dutch.

  10. Very nice mural. And cheers to the new roof. I can't even say the word commissioners in my community without naughty words in my head.

  11. We have several new murals in our little city and they are really beautiful. Such talented people we have in our midst. We are mostly in the 60s now which is fine with me. I love fall and in my opinion it doesn't last long enough. It would be nice if Winter would yield some of its time to fall...

  12. Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. I always think, or assume, that's when our weather will turn. I can remember many unseasonably warm festive weekends in the past. Not this year when it turned on a dime last night.

  13. I like the murals on old buildings. Several towns here use them. Better than graffiti I guess but I even think some of it in the train cars is cool. Don’t see how they paint it with spray paint and I thin that’s what they use with graffiti.

  14. Definitely Scandinavian. It looks like it too a lot of time to paint all the small designs. It is a fun thing for the city to have.

  15. That is a pretty mural. It looks Swedish or Norwegian. That's great about the roof as I know you talked about that years ago. It's great here right now for working outside it just seems I can't get out there.
