We see a few migratory birds in October...a few more Hawks than normal. On Saturday we saw a bevy of swans...they can be call a bevy, bank or herd. In flight they are called a flight or a wedge.
Sometime I just grab my camera and do not have the right lens...oh well the swans show up nicely anyway.
Yesterday I washed the dining room window...I could not stand looking out it anymore. Far Guy did some woodcarving. I did some laundry and had a nap.
Today I am seeing the eye Doctor yet again and getting the RSV vaccination. Fun times.
Far Side
I have to make appointments to get the RSV vaccination as well as the Covid shot...fun, not.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh...I did ALL the windows a few weeks ago and then we had wicked winds and storms and then dry and dust...my windows need washing again. But I'll wait until the box elders and the asian beetles are done flying into the windows.
I still need to get the flu shot before the RSV. Hope you have zero or little side effects.
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing the migratory birds like I used to. I don't know why. I need to see an optometrist and I need the RSV, Flu and Covid vaccinations. Ah, well....
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the vaccine - I know you tend to react, so hopefully this is mild.
ReplyDeleteNeat to see the swans. I don't think I've ever seen many here.
At least you were able to get a photo. I see good things often and don't even have my camera or my cell phone :(
ReplyDeleteSwans - very interesting. I wouldn't have thought of them as migratory birds. We've heard some geese overhead but really haven't seen many yet. I've noticed the Junkos are back at my feeders as the weather is turning colder.
ReplyDeleteI hope the shot goes well with few side effects.
ReplyDeleteMy patio door needs cleaning again but every time it rains it gets splattered up again. The snow will do the same--lol!
Loved seeing the swans!
I don't remember seeing swans in a field here. Sometimes we just have to shoot and run to get photos.
ReplyDeleteSwans migrate out of Canada to our Skagit Valley here in winter, great flocks of them. They and the snow geese take over the farmers fields and eat the leavings.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I've never seen the swans going south in the fall, but we usually see a flock or two headed north in the spring.
ReplyDeleteSo far we've just been getting a lot of Canada geese - which is no suprise. And this is Hawk Heaven here - always lots of Red Tails and Coopers all year long. We did see a juvenile Bald Eagle on the side of the road last week - that's always a thrill!
I hope you have no bad effects from that shot.
ReplyDeleteI very much detest cleaning windows. Once done any window 'washed' by me is going to look worse than when I began.
We got our flu shots last week and I was sick for four days. My arm hurt for six days and today finally feels better. We're debating the RSV or covid shots.
ReplyDeleteI miss the geese I used to see in Spokane. I've not seen many land here but do hear them honking as they fly over.
We washed to car yesterday on our way back into town from our trip. We had a funeral this morning and wanted it to look nice and clean. But, of course it was raining on the way to the funeral home. It's stopped now, but it got the car nice and dirty again. *sigh*
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
My daughter had her flu shot but has also had influenza B three times
ReplyDeleteI got my Covid and flu and my pharmacist said I might want to get the rsv shot. Let us know if it makes you sick.
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen white pelicans flying overhead but never swans.
ReplyDeleteWow....those swans look huge on your picture!
