Decisions, decisions. Craft retreat is next month. I usually do Christmas cards. That is all about the math...how many cards. With the price of folded cardstock I can cut and fold my own. How many can I get out of a 11 X 17 piece of cardstock...four is the number Far Guy and I came up with. Then there is the decision of metallic or matte cardstock. Oh and the envelopes should they be metallic red or elegant white lined with red? How many pound paper should I strive for 73? 81? or 105?? How will my design fit on the card...will it look good? What will the card say inside...should I try embossing something...or is that too card fashion forward for me?
Glitter on the cut out...no maybe sequins...or some of the rub on jewel tone stuff Far Guy uses sometimes.
Am I rushing the season a bit? Perhaps. Have you any idea how many tiny bits of paper have to be punched out for my design? That should keep me busy for just a few days.
FYI we usually send out about 125 cards....all crafted one at a time...by elves....HA!

I know this feeling--lol! I never do elaborate cards when I have to mass produce and I don't make as many as you do. Yours are always so elegant! You are not the only one thinking about Christmas cards already. I need to get going on mine, too.
Oh, and yes, you'd get four card bases from 11 X 17 inch paper. ;)
My mom used to begin Christmas Cards in September. She sent hundreds.

That's a lot of cards to hand make! If it were me, I'd have to start in January to get them done!

So many decisions!!! I guess you have to start early to get all your lovely cards ready for December. If your mail service is as unpredictable as ours you'd have to get the cards mailed b y the beginning of the month. (Then you find out they arrived 3 days later :( .
I'll leave the math to you. I just know that the results will be beautiful!

Decisions, decisions! Well, whatever you decide I know they will be beautiful works of art!
Whatever you do they will be masterpieces. The choices are great as you have so many good experiences with your paper creations. What is great that you keep contacts with so many and everyone who receives the artworks are so happy to get them. I collect them as not one will hit the waste paper basket.
You are not rushing the season. You are getting things done early so you won't be rushed. Then you will have more time to enjoy being with family and friends. It is a BIG check-list to accomplish before December. We are downsizing our tree this year. It will give us more time. Plus the size will be maybe five feet tall rather than eight feet. Still enough to be festive especially if I set it on the bay window bench after decoration but much quicker - hopefully - to decorate.

Your Christmas cards are a work of art. Thank you for all the time and talent you put into each card. They are so beautiful. I can understand why it would take you months to complete them all. God bless you both. I love your traditions!

So much time and effort goes into each of those cards. We have every one you've sent to us. They survived all of the moves the past few years! Ha!
