I am trying to keep my fingers moving and exercising the dexterity I still have.
I am doing a blanket stitch around some dish towels. No not all my stitches are perfect.
Yesterday I made it to Ben Franklin for some embroidery floss and a few other supplies. I also got my Driver's License renewed, had blood work at the clinic and a mammogram...yeah me. I stopped and visited with my Mom at the Nursing Home. Came home and had a nap. I am making some progress on my list of things to do.
Far Side
That is so awesome that you are working with your dexterity to keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI found that exercising my arthritic joints in my hands and wrists do help too. Some days that really sucks!
Nice job on that stitch. And good on ya for getting that blood drawn and drivers license renewed. I did that not long ago (renewing, I mean). :-)
ReplyDeleteYou had a full day. That darn list of things to do - it never seems to end.
ReplyDeletePerfect is over-rated. I think your stitches look great. Hand crafted is much better than machine stitched perfection.
ReplyDeleteGood for you with your list and keeping moving. I keep that list going, too. I read one time it takes the clutter out of your brain and reduces stress because you don't have to try and remember so much. Also,I am more productive that way. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteI think the stiching is perfect! You had a busy day.
ReplyDeleteGetting even blanket stitches is much harder than it looks. Yours looks miles better than any of the attempts I've made!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the exhausting pain it is to see your mom this way. I remember how hard it was for my Grandmother
ReplyDeleteWow, you did a lot yesterday. The blanket stitch is no nice. Doubt I could do it even though. Glad you visited your Mom.
ReplyDeleteI think your blanket stitch looks great. I never get it right when I try it. You sure got a lot done yesterday. A mammogram is enough on it's own. We have to get our drivers licenses changed yet again because of our address changing...again. It's getting old and expense.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Stitches are looking darn good to me. :)
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot done. Good to visit your mom as often as you can...hard or not. Life seems to tip when our parents health declines or we lose them. Mine are both gone now and then I realized I am the oldest of the next generation.
Hope you got a nice nap in somewhere. :)
I was a hand-piecer and hand quilter back in the day. Now, even after trigger finger surgeries, my fingers freeze and my hands ache if I try to sew by hand. I haven't given up completely - I still have all my half finished projects in boxes. But it is disheartening. I love blanket stitch and the blue against the white is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat was a lot for one day!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to keep my legs and hips working by walking a mile or riding my stationary bike. I got my mile today.
Yay us!
I get my drivers medical next week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got a lot accomplished. Hope you're feeling a little better every day.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you. Glad you got to visit your mom for a bit too.
It's nice to get a list of things done. Nice, too, that you popped in to see your Mom. I hope today was an easier day.
ReplyDeleteThose stitches look good to me! Every time I do the blanket stitch I have to teach myself all over again. I would have taken a nap too....you get so much done!
ReplyDeleteI have old pieces from my mom that have that sewing. I think my sister-in-law taught her two girls how to do that on some sewing pieces that they did for their grandma.
