Irritants

Eagle at the cemetery

This guy really irritated me. He was working on a road kill deer when I disturbed him.  He flew to the nearest tree in the area which was at the cemetery.  Well I have been known to hang around at this particular cemetery..taking photos..

This tree will get a broken top and then get two weak leaders growing up instead of one strong one.  Does the Eagle care..not much..he just looks at it as a safe place to sit until he can resume eating dead flesh.

Today I am off to the Dentist ..again..for the completion of my root canals..plural:(

Poor girl. I hate goin' to the dentist with a passion and yet my mouth is full of his work. I'll pray that everything goes well for you.

We had a young Eagle in our big oak on a Sunday mornin'. They are magnificent birds but yes they can cause much damage.

God bless you and I hope all goes well for ya at the Drill Sergent's.

Hope all goes well for you today at the dentist. I know you will be glad to get all of this behind you.

You did capture a great photo Connie.

Ow! On both counts, well actually that would be on all three counts. You know how we here at VF&G feel about those pesky national icons, I feel the same about dentists and anything they do, but root canals - the worst!

Just remember, you'll be very happy when it's all over...

I was never so shocked in my life as when I went on a bird-watching expedition to see eagles and to attract them, they laid out a deer that had been run over by a car. At the time I did not realize that they really are scavengers and only a couple of steps above vultures. Best as you brave the dentist

And that is our nations bird! It should have been our wild turkey.

I didn't realize that the eagles destroyed trees - - but at least there is one less deer to eat the wildflowers! And there will be less roadkill to haul off the road. So eagles like venison steak as much as humans??!!! Forgive me - - - I'm exhausted tonight and my brain's not right - - - will blog tomorrow.

P.S. I hope today's dentist visit was better than the last one and am very happy for you that it is hopefully over for you with these root canals.

Absolutely great picture.

May your canals run smoothly.

I never thought about eagles snapping off tree tops, but I knew they were scavengers. Maybe you were extra annoyed with the eagle because of the horrible dentist visit hanging over your head. (My stomach starts flip-flopping just thinking about a dentist visit!) I hope all goes well and you get finished with the mouth torture soon!! :)

I definitely hope things are going better for you, including perhaps some good drugs.

I'm late in checkin all blogs, so hope your day went well at the dentist and that you're feeling better by now.

Great photo--and I bet you're the only one who would think of the tree the eagle damaged! A real naturalist; I appreciate that. Hope your dental appointment went well. I hate those, as we all do.

What a great shot! He's got to perch somewhere, right?

Good luck at the dentist's...

I suppose eagles don't need to go to the dentist. Probably they dread having to go to the beakist instead.

I hope you are recovering from the oral torture and have an enjoyable weekend!

They may be scavengers, but they look so regal and wonderful that I love seeing them and getting a photo of them...this one is a wonderful, clear shot!!

That is an awesome picture! I've never seen an eagle so I think I'll add that to my bucket list. ;D
