How cold is too cold?

We hit the cold wall..we watched the thermometer drop all evening.  How low would it go?

This was at 11PM.  This sensor sit in the kitchen window, we used to use it to monitor temperatures in the greenhouse.  Now it just monitors the temperatures outside and the temperature at the window indoors.

This was just about midnight.  Yes, it is a little cool next to this window inside.  IMG_0991

This was 1:47 AM..Far Guy took this one..I was asleep. This would be –36 C for my Canadian and Foreign friends.

According the the local newspaper..Park Rapids was –40 F this morning.

Now what was that malarkey about global warming:)

Yes - this is far too cold! Far far too cold. Unfortunately, one of the symptoms of global warming is extreme weather: extreme cold, heat, storms,flooding...

Just be glad you have heat in the house...

Way too cold for my liking. Compared to you we are having a heat wave with a toasty -5 degrees. Throw another log on the fire and stay warm up there.

Exactly. I laugh each time we break the record lows 'round here. I always say...it must be the Global Warmin'!!!

I know were are wimps down here but it was a woppin' seven here on the Ponderosa and the inside temp. (to the addition we close off of such cold nights) was 60.5. I'm seein' your inside temp and shiverin' in my timbers!!!

God bless ya and have a warm, layered day sweetie!!!

A measly tepid -18 degress here last night. We folks here in the southern banana belt of Minnesota have it so easy! yes we do....

OH MY! I feel really guilty moaning about our mild WET weather. It's looking pretty good at the moment, ya know, compared to.....
Keep warm, and I hope that cold eases soon.

I might have thought you lived in Alaska with temps like that. Is that normal for Minnesota?
Stay warm!

Brrr! That's cold enough to freeze your paws off! Among other things as well eh? There is a lot of nonsense in the world disguised as knowledge.

That looks like my thermometer, and I didn't think it could go that low!! Can a person even be outside in that and live? Gosh that's cold.

As a child I used to walk to school in temps like that. Here in St. Paul the heat island effect kept us a little warmer last night. This climate builds character!

It's a chilly 68 degrees inside the castle today, 48 degrees outside - and we are FREEZING! Guess I'll shut up now :)

If you put a plus in front of your low last night, that was our high today. Let's just say we weren't strolling in parking lots but everyone seemed to pick a brisk pace for walking. I cannot imagine your cold. Even growing up in the Catskills of NY, I don't think I remember anything much lower than -5 or -10. Brrrrrr!

we are going through the same thing in Michigan....grab a comforter, be cozy and warm!

I can't complain...it was almost above the freezing mark here today but the old barometer went WAY down when I tapped it a while ago...that usually means wind.

Yikes! Now that is serious cold. SERIOUS. We got all the way down to 34 degrees F here last night and right now it's pretty darn warm. I thought we had it cold in our apartment, but you have us beat by about ten degrees!

Yep, after 13 below it just gets to be unreasonable. I hope you didn't go anywhere. Modern cars can start sometimes in that weather but a lot of my older cars a few years ago wouldn't have ever made it on the road.
