Chance: Just Ducky

Hi!  It is I the most handsome Border Collie in Minnesota.  Here to entertain you.  Far Side says that I have cabin fever just like her.

She and Far Guy were in the hardware store one day..she didn’t need anything but Far Guy had a list..so she wandered around.  There was a display of slingshot animals.  She hollered at the cashier who wasn’t busy “ How do these things work?”  Well from that point on she was sold..of course she had to try them all out in the aisle..frogs, cows, monkeys and they all made noises as they hit the floor and skidded to a stop.  Far Guy found her there pondering which one I would like best.  The duck sling shot is a little different..it has one spot for your finger..under the little ducks chin.  It flew across the store quite a ways and quack quacked when it hit the floor! Far Side was sold.   Seven dollars worth of winter entertainment.

IMG_0909 She should have taken a photo of it before it got all slobbery.  I cannot have it all the time..it lives on top of the refrigerator..because someone said “Perhaps we should not let him chew it to smithereens in just one day.”

Chance and His duck Me and my duck.

Chance eating his duck The ducks quacks..and quacks..

Chance modeling a duck

After awhile..I just want to lay down and chew on it to stop the quacking..so what does Far Side do?

Chance and the duck closeup Who is the cute one here?

IMG_0941 I think I liked him better on my head..

IMG_0943 Oh Far Guy..could you come into the kitchen and save me..

After a bit, she put the duck and the camera away.  She brushed me..every square inch of my body..I am even more handsome now:)

A new toy, and one that makes noise, the best!!
The other day when I was cleaning I found a squeaker that had survived from another dog toy. I slipped it into the middle of the stuffed rabbit, through a little hole that Pippin had made, and Luna has gradually been enlarging. So Jake is even more thrilled with it now, and sometimes is happy to just make it squeak, squeak, squeak, instead of asking you to throw it. Not sure which is the most annoying though:)

I got to get Lenny one of those -- was it the L&M store or the hardware store? Hmmm 3 dogs - do you think they fight over it?

Hey Chance! I like Ducks too! I've also got a quacky toy. But it's actually a turtle. My boss must think I'm stupid but I play along with it just the same. He's happy I'm happy.

Without a doubt you are the most handsome Border Collie in Minnesota - perhaps the whole world. You make an excellent model, even wearing a duck on your head.

Now that is a long suffering look, Chance, with the quacking duck on your head. You sure made me smile. Hope Far Guy saved you from too much silliness. LOL, for real!

What a funny and perfect toy for Chance! But I can see why it needs to come out in small doses and lives on top of the frig--hehe! ;)

Chance, your ducky post was a bright spot in my day. I'm glad you are there to entertain Far Side during these bitter cold days.

That is such a cute toy and a great way to get exercise. You are beautiful Chance!

I have never heard of a slingshot animal. That is a very clever invention and clever of Far Side to buy it. Now they don't have to go out in the cold and you are still getting entertainment with a live person! Chance, I am so glad you wrote tonight. It has been a very busy day and you were the entertainment I needed to relax!!!

Hi Chance,

That's a cool new toy you have there. I think I would have to kill the quacker though. I hope it helps you with your cabin fever. It sure looks like fun!

Kisses,
Emma Rose

Chance is one lucky dog! We have to do the same because we have one dog that loves to play with his toys and the other likes to chew them up!

Our Miggy has so many squeeky toys, her favorites are her teddy that now has no ears lol and her hedge hog we call hog hog that makes a grunting sound now with only two legs lol some times she cuddles up with them a falls a sleep ! many times I have repaired them . Great post and photos, the things we do for and with our furbabies ! Have a great day !

Awesome pictures! Why is it that dogs love to ruin things? Bob gets a hold of one of the kids toys and destroys it.

Hi Chance, Cool ducky you got there. Wish I had one. My boss gave me a squeaky turtle. Ducks, squirrels, rabbits... ok But whoever heard of a real dog having to chase a turtle down. Go figure! Baron

Great pal you have, Chance, try not to eat him! And might I suggest that you request a sling shot that fires out a flock at a time so that you can practice your excellent herding skills as well!
