Update

Still not feeling great.  The Doctor believes I have an infection in the deep stitches in my face and has prescribed antibiotics.  So I hope that make me feel like a new person and SOON.  She said she would hate to go back into my face to retrieve those deep stitches.

This is one of the prettiest Maple trees on the way to Detroit Lakes.  I have stopped many times to take a photo...it looked just about the same yesterday...although this photo is from 2009.

  1. Hope the hurt doesn’t indicate a deep scar. The tree is exceptional.

  3. Oh no!! Hoping that if there is an infection, that these antibiotics will kick in quickly and get you feeling better. do you have swelling in that area? This tree is so beautiful, almost like it is too pretty for the red leaves to fall off. Lots of smiles I'm sure when people see the gorgeous colors.

  4. Infection - that sure puts your recovery a step backwards. Hope the antibiotics work so the doctor doesn't have to go back in.

  5. Oh Connie, I'm so sorry about having to deal with an infection now too. It's just one thing after another. I pray that the antibiotics work quickly and that you'll soon feel better.
    Blessings and hugs,

  10. Oh no! I had that happen to me with stitches after I had a fingertip almost ripped off at a factory. Hurt like hell! And they thought they might have to go back in, too. Took a while but the antibiotics did finally work for me so I really, really hope they work for you, too!! Positive thoughts and prayers. You need a break, lady!!

  11. Hopefully the antibiotics work and there will be no need for more surgery.
I'm still looking around for a RED tree. So far only yellow/gold around here.

  12. LOVE the tree! We do get some color changes here but not nearly as dramatic as yours and those in upstate NY. My heart hurts for you with that infection. Will those stitches dissolve? Could you possibly be allergic to whatever material that was used? I knew someone who experienced that. Praying you get better quickly with no additional treatment needed.

  20. So sorry to hear you are still having pain and swelling. My friend has had multiple skin cancers removed from her brow ridges that have caused problems too. Could your location be part of the ongoing problem?

  21. Oh, I hope your stitches heal. That tree is beautiful. We don' t have many maples here and the one I planted died after 10 years. Mostly Oaks here. I miss the colors.
