Melting and cleaning

Lots of melting went on over the weekend.

I took a photo in the late afternoon Sunday.   It was 54 F and my other baby brother and she who sees robins first came over for a visit on the patio.

Far Guy fixed on his new/old car.   I am not sure what his project was today...since I am not very mechanical it is a mystery to me.

I got started on Spring Cleaning the bathroom drawers...they are all done one more day in the bathroom and it will be done too!  Far Guy helped with his drawer...surprising how much room you have when it is all straightened up and clean.   For the record...he is messy with his shaving cream and I am messy with my hair bands and toothpaste. I threw a bunch of make up away...I don't wear it anyway.

I packaged up lots of odds and ends, trial sizes, and some shampoo that is too fragrant to use...it is all in a bag ready to pass off to one of our grands who once told me " I hate spending money on shampoo, I would rather spend it on something else!"

Glad to see it's warming up there and great job on the spring cleaning!

I just found some great shampoo for the summer. No scent. No scent in the shampoo and conditioner with NO scent too!
We still have snow on the hillsides and in the north facing draws. But it is soaking in nicely this year.
Mechanical stuff IS a mystery to me too.
I'll bet you loved the warm weather!

The bathroom will be a good one for me too to clean. SO much of that stuff I don't use anymore. I even stopped using creme rinse on my hair. Makeup...just a little blush and lipstick but only when I go out in public which is maybe twice a month? It will be a good feeling to get rid of all that stuff!
Glad it is melting where you are and warm so you can get outside.

I don't wear makeup anymore either, but I still haven't thrown it out, and it's been there for over a decade. You are inspiring me to get rid of it. That sounds really warm for your area!

Glad you got to enjoy another porch visit, and that the cleaning is going well.

I'm sure your grandchild will appreciate the shampoo and other items. As for make-up I haven't used any since I retired, so I'm sure it's all dried up. Note to self.

Enjoy the lovely weather. Take care, stay well.

For one of my very first outings to a church meeting (six people in a large room, socially distanced from each other) I put on foundation and eye makeup - all fancy for a big day out. After I added my mask, I wondered why to go to all the bother? I have ditched most of my cosmetics too. I love the mask hides it all.

I did a little sorting and dumping on Sunday. I can only do a little and then I am emotionally spent. I tell myself, everything I do counts.

You are a cleaning whirlwind.

Isn't it wonderful to see that grass poking through, Connie? Even if it's brown instead of green. The "greenness" will come soon enough. Have a wonderful week. ~Andrea xoxo

Organization feels good when it's done. Enjoy the warm weather while you've got it!

You are doing great with your Spring Cleaning! Last year when I did Spring Cleaning on my bathroom I threw a lot of makeup and other stuff out but I seem to have a new mess this year! I wonder if that kind of stuff multiplies?

It looks like there may be a winner to the Snow Stick contest soon! Enjoy your week!

So satisfying to clean out a drawer! My Minnesota and Wisconsin family are having the same high temps as we are here in South Carolina today, and we have a freeze warning tonight. More upside down weather for the U.S. Enjoy it while you can!

I don't ever wear make-up anymore. I seem to be allergic to eye make-up for some reason. I always wore shadow and mascara-nothing else and one day about 15 years ago or so, my eyes turned red and swelled up. I tried all kinds of hypo-allergenic stuff but the same results. So I just stopped wearing any of it. Dennis prefers the no make-up face. He said it's disgusting to kiss me and get a taste of the make-up. :-)So we're both happy.
I got my first Pfizer shot about 2 hours ago. So far, so good. Let's hope it stays that way. Dennis's mom is worse today. Now she's getting pneumonia! So frustrating. Now I can't leave for three weeks because of my shot.
Blessings,
Betsy

I have been cleaning and tidying drawers in the bathroom too, and in the kitchen.
Where oh where has my large silver ladle gone? Where can I possibly have put it? I’ve searched every drawer in the kitchen and can’t find it anywhere. Is it possible I put in a “safe place”? I do hope not. If I did that it’ll never be seen again. Or did family tidy it away when we were in lockdown in Switzerland? Please come back little ladle.

Ha! I have makeup I haven't worn for over a decade, too. Good idea to purge that.
It's been so warm! Possibility of snow in a couple of days...but it would melt away quickly.

Oh...good idea to work on the bathroom drawers!!!! We are going to have a few days in a row of 60 degree weather, that should do it for this batch of snow. But we all know there will be more before it's officially over.

We had the exact same temperature here today. The whole week is supposed to be this way. I can hardly believe it.
I got ambitious today and cleaned the glassed in porch. DH did the windows which is the hardest part but I vacuumed it. It's a start.

You are making me feel guilty, but not enough yet to start spring cleaning. We just do housekeeping every Monday, and occasionally tackle something that just demands attention.

All your cleaning is coming in handy and you can give gifts to grandkids to prove it. You sure have alot of energy. Wish I had just a bit of yours! Yes our snow is melting too....I wonder how much we'll get after it all melts. Take care you two.
