Yesterday we finished packing up my Mother's apartment in Assisted Living. She is at the Nursing Home full time now. Her belongings were moved to her room in the home or into storage. There were 14 adults and a whole bunch of little kids to help....since she lived on the second floor all the help was appreciated and it was 90 plus degrees.
Everything went smoothly as far as I can tell.
Far Side
Well, things keep moving along. Hopefully things continue to move along smoothly for your mom. Does she seem happier there?
ReplyDeleteWell maybe that is a stupid question.
This sure has been a long year of one thing after another for you.
Glad to hear it all went well. It's so nice to have many hands to help like that.
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your mom would prefer to be in her assisted living unit, but having her in the nursing home is likely a bit of a relief as she'll have more frequent care. I do hope she'll settle in well to the home - my Dad took a couple of months but he grew to really enjoy his time.
It's a great thing to have lots of help! On to the new phase in her life.
ReplyDeleteYour mother should be better off in full time care.
ReplyDeleteWishing your Mom all the best. Making this move had to be difficult for everyone.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have all those people to help with the move. Especially in that heat so it went more quickly. I hope she will like her new spot. Sounds like she was ready to make the change.
ReplyDeleteThis is all so hard. So very hard. My heart is with you and your mom
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved my dad from assisted living to the nursing home, my army of sons and grandsons showed up too. It was a great comfort and the move went quickly and seamlessly except for me. I walked where his nightstand had been and whacked my head on the shelf above it that had not yet been removed. I was afraid the nurses would see me and call an ambulance and my family wasn't sure they were moving the right person into the nursing home!
ReplyDeleteI hope she is comfortable in her new space.
Hope you didn’t carry boxes down stairs. That is dangerous. Let the young folks do that.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of moving my mother into assisted living, and then upon her passing, emptying out her rooms there. Both were family affairs.
ReplyDeleteNice that you had lots of help. I hope your Mom is okay with the move.
ReplyDeleteI love that your family all pulls together in support and love of each other. Prayers that the adjustment goes very well. Since she's been there for awhile already, it should be even better with her own things around her.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
Glad to hear you had so much help in moving your Mom's stuff into the nursing home. I hope she will have a nice room there and make many friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a hot day for doing that but I am happy you had lots of help! It has been warm ~ we are also on yardwork vacation but guess what? The weeds are still growing!
ReplyDeleteLots of help comforts the sad need to move. Everybody supports your mom by participating.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you had lots of help and I hope your mom will be comfortable in her new place.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting to check your blog. So used to getting it via email and so much has happened. First your Dad and now moving your Mom into a nursing home. Hope you are taking good care of yourself during all this. Please remember to do so. Otherwise, you won't be able to help Far guy.
ReplyDeleteSure have missed you and hearing of and seeing your family and your blog.
Heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your Dad. No matter how long our loved one live, it is never long enough.
