Mural Art

Back in the Winter of 2022 our daughter Jen was exploring different art ideas.  She sent for a tile from  The Mural Mosaic Global Roots Project in the Midwest Region.

1500 people painted tiles.  As I recall she was asked to paint something mostly blue the color of the sky.

Her tile arrived the same day that her Aunt Jan (Far Guy's sister) died on April 21, 2022.

Jen painted what was heavy on her mind that day.

The mural was unveiled in Port Washington Wisconsin in April of 2023.  Jen and Andy visited the mural yesterday.

Here is a link to a photo of the entire mural.

Isn't it wonderful what artists can create together!

I saw something about that mural and thought, that would be fun to participate in. But you know … STUFF! Your daughter’s contribution is sweet.
I’m having trouble commenting on about half the blogs I frequent. Hoping this goes through.

I went to the link. It is fascinating. I had no clue that this project existed. They have created murals of beauty in many, many places. That is exciting to be a part of that creation.

Jen is so talented! She made a beautiful tile and the entire mural is truly amazing! Great picture of Jen too! It would be neat if they sold posters of that mural or wallpaper! It is beautiful.

What an interesting project. All of those different tiles, planned just by requesting a predominant color. It worked and turned into a masterpiece!

What a beautiful project! And...I can tell how heavy her heart was in the photo. But...Port Washington is a lovely city on Lake Michigan where I spent a good deal of time visiting my maternal grandmother - whose looks/stature I seem to have inherited. Jen's tile is beautiful.

I LOVE THIS!! That is an amazing mural! So many artists coming together to create such a wonderful piece of art! I found her tile, wasn't hard. I will have to show this project to my son. He has entered mural contests in recent years, but they were nothing as grand as this!
