Two skeins of yarn later and my Blaithin Blanket has a border! The pattern for this blanket came out in September of 2019. So what the heck it only took me a little over two years to finish.
Pay no attention to the quilt on the bed....I had to find someplace to spread it out!
80 squares all different colors, the pattern was supposed to be a stash buster! It is a very heavy warm blanket....I was very cozy when I was finishing the border.
So nice to have something finished!

Oh Connie, that blanket is absolutely positively gorgeous. I love the colors you chose for it. Congratulations on having such a huge project finished! It feels good, doesn't it? ~Andrea xoxoxo
This is beautiful! I recall my mom and Grandma working on one of these together. They loved to crochet together and make quilts, blankets, scarves, and mittens.
I always felt good when I finished a big project like this. And I used to LOVE chrocheting big afghans in the winter because they kept me so warm, especially when I lived in the UP of Michigan in an upstairs flat of an old house that was so drafty!
Looks wonderful! I love the different colors, stitches and squares. And it does look very warm on this chilly November morning. How satisfying to have a finished project, too. Of couse we snuck a peek at the quilt underneath, too.
Wow!! Look at all those colors & square patterns, so pretty. I bet it feels good to wrap up (and in) another project. You are so talented!
It's beautiful! Congratulations on finishing that massive project. :-)
Love your afghan. I started Spice of life (free pattern) in Christmas colors. First crochet blanket in 15 years. Loving it. Was able to get 1/2 done in a week, then had to go back to Christmas present knitting.
That is really a beautiful quilt. I love all the colors; great job.
You should be very proud of yourself! That is a lot of work. You did a beautiful job. It seems I remember when you started it, you mentioned every square is a different pattern.
Beautiful!
Have a blessed day!
Beautiful! I have a very heavy crocheted blanket as well. Makes me think of those weighted blankets. This is much nicer :-).
Oh my, that blanket is gorgeous. Love all the bright colors.
I can imagine how warm it would be to sleep under such a blanket. I have a throw blanket made by my great grandmother that she gave me as a young kid. I don't often use it but I do enjoy it and the memories whenever I do.
Fantastic finish! It’s a beauty.
so pretty Yeah You!!!
It's gorgeous! The variations in color and pattern are lovely.
Love it! So bright and cheery! :)
Congratulations on finally getting it finished.
It's lovely! I bet it's wonderful to have on (I love a blanket with heft!)
Hey - 2 years isn't long at all to finish a big project like this. It's lovely and will be so cozy!! You chose well with the colors!!
a beautiful job on making this
That is a gorgeous blanket! I love all of the colors and different squares. It doesn't matter how long it took if you liked working on it. I can just imagine how warm it will be this winter in your log house while it's snowing outside.
Blessings,
Betsy
OH! Connie, that is stunning! I love it!
The quilt is a masterpiece
Wow! That is beautiful and I love the variety of colors! Congratulations for your completion!
So beautiful
That's a big project, and beautifully DONE! Those bright colors are wonderful.
Very nice looking blanket. I love the bright colours!
That is one gorgeous blanket Connie. You sure know how to make beautiful things. What talented people you and far guy are. Just amazing!
2 years! Goodness! Looks awesome!
It is a wonderful creation. I like all the colors and patterns.
That was some project!! Did you use up your stash??
Congratulations on finishing the blanket. It looks very pretty and colourful ( and warm).
Looks fantastic!
What a project! It took me 5 years to finish an embroidery my mom began! I hear you!
Great finish! It looks very cozy as well as beautiful.
Two years - not bad at all. It's lovely! Cozy and warm is my speed nowadays. Two years is about my average even for small projects. I get so easily distracted nowadays. I only crochet during the cold months, for some reason, so it's time for me to finish a blanket (not a granny square) that I started in (drum roll) 2018. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Reminds me of an afghan I crocheted years ago. It was a granny square pattern.
That is so pretty! I just love it. I can't imagine finishing it in two years.
I must have missed that one. It's gorgeous!
