I am working on words.
Peace, Believe, Noel and Joy are the words I chose to use on the Christmas Cards. I used the Gemini and dies to cut out the words. Then I had lots of poking out to do the centers of all the a, e, o, l's etc ...it was putzy work. I got rid of a number of paper scraps that were accumulating in the paper drawer in my desk.
One more afternoon and I will be done with those words! My fingers get all sticky from the glue I am using.
Far Guy entered all the addresses one by one on the Christmas Card list...he was a trooper and hopes he never has to do that again. ( Windows to Mac was a nightmare) The address labels have been printed. He is working on the Christmas letter.
The last of the Christmas Ornaments were mailed Monday afternoon...so I will reveal the ornaments at the end of the week. Brain Dead Postal Lady had no Internet so she could not weigh packages or print out postage...I didn't know the scales were connected to the Internet...I wondered what they did in the olden days? She told me to come back tomorrow...ya right. ( I may have said bad word bad word under my breath) I went to a different Post Office that is open from 12 - 2 and she was more than happy for the business.
Fever Blisters are no fun...I get them when I have had a fever for a couple of days...and guess what the Moderna Vaccination Booster gave me a fever. In a couple of weeks they will be gone...it always takes time. The ones inside my mouth are a bit better...but I am still cranky.
Far Side
Your BrainDead Postal Lady doesn't surprise me. Last time I went to the Post Office I encountered on also. Guess over paid Government workers don't need to think. Glad you found one that could think. Hope those blisters heal up real soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI would be VERY grumpy with fever blisters. Our Walmart used to lose power occasionally. After a while I learned the game. If the lights flicker, head to the register. They have enough backup power to check out a few people. Otherwise you all must abandon your carts and leave the store. And I am sure the refrigerator and freezer items in the carts just get pitched. Cause you can't shop unless the computers work.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud on your scale comment! You may be rightfully cranky, but you still have your humor. You chose good words, I am especially fond of Believe. It was a contender for my card this year, but I've already used Believe :/ I use the Xyron sticker maker (purple X) for similar embellishments. Really like it, but wish it used less sticky tape per item. Looking forward to your ornament reveal! I told Brad that you and Far Guy carve/paint/gift 100 ornaments, he said WOW! I love reading/seeing your crafts.
ReplyDeleteGee - I can get cranky without fever blisters!
ReplyDeleteWell, if they can't weigh, they can't print the labels... It always goes back to the troublesome printers...at least around this house (married to a printer ;-) haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad at least a few of the blisters in your mouth are better. Bless you for getting the vaccine even knowing you would probably feel icky.
ReplyDeleteI had the BEST postal guys in Spokane. They knew that most of what I was mailing was for charity and so they did everything they could to get it cheaper. Then they both retired last year. Then I moved. The lady at our closest branch moves slower than the seven year itch. S..L..O..W.
Love the words you chose for your card this year. They do look a bit fiddly though. I had to convert my list from windows to Mac two years ago. I gave up and entered each address again too. Hopefully never again. I didn't do labels though, just into a spreadsheet. Labels are too much technology for me. I'm lucky to type on blogs. :-)
I'm trying to talk Dennis into doing our Christmas letter this year so I can still get them mailed out early with our new address.
Blessings and big hugs,
Betsy
What silly girl said...it doesn't take fever blister to make me cranky.
ReplyDeleteThe work you put into the cards and the ornaments is amazing to me.
Oh man, Connie, any type of sore inside the mouth is horrendous!! I hope your fever blisters vamoose soon. *hugs* Can't wait for your ornament reveal... I look forward to that each year!! ~Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI always admire you card makers - they are beautiful, but all that work and cutting seems so fiddly to me!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon.
It sounds like the mail lady doesn't like her job! I'm sorry about your fever blisters, they sound miserable. I can't wait to see this years ornament!
ReplyDeleteFever blisters are painful. I used to get them - gargling with warm, salt water helps.
ReplyDeleteDies are a lot of extra work but they add so much to a card. Can hardly wait to see how yours turned out this year...and the ornaments. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the lack of customer service at your post office! But I guess if she has no internet she just can't do much. I think everything is relying on the internet these days. That's a scary thought. Glad you got some stuff done, you are way ahead of me!!
ReplyDeleteFever blisters would make me cranky too.
ReplyDeleteYou have far more patience then me to do such things.
ReplyDeleteI can't blame you for being cranky between the sores in your mouth and the postal problems and poor Far Guy having to enter all those addresses one at a time. I'm glad I didn't "drop by"! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping your yarn had come in to cheer you up but I think you would have mentioned it if it did. Tomorrow will be a better day....we hope!
That had to feel good to just go to another post office. It is amazing you are getting things done when you are not feeling well. The new address book will last forever
ReplyDeleteDoing that putzy punch out work while dealing with fever blisters makes me think that you needed to focus on some of those words, like PEACE and JOY. I hope you find them soon.
ReplyDeleteWow....all your little words look like a lot of work but they are totally cool! You think of such neat things! Hope you're feeling much better soon!
ReplyDeleteObviously your first postal lady doesn’t understand the idea of customer service.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you were able to go to a different post office where they could actually be helpful.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been hard for me to just "get rid of" those paper scraps. With such vibrant colors, I would have been one of those evil people who converts that stuff into confetti.
ReplyDeleteThose words are super cool. I like them. I have yet to start thinking about my Christmas Cards!
ReplyDeletePost office ... we must have the same postal lady at the desk. NO smile, no thank you, just grumpy. But I suppose that they are not looking forward to the busy season either.
Hope you get to feeling better quickly!
Too much relies on the internet these days. Anyway, glad you got the ornaments all sent out one way or another. Hope the fever blisters go away soon.
