Trails on Saturday

On Saturday we decided to go on an adventure.  We wanted to see if we could navigate from our house to my cousins house on the backwoods trails.

The Popples still have some golden leaves.  Aspen ...Piss Popple ...same thing.

The Tamaracks  (some people call them Larch) are turning golden.

Yes, we found my cousin's home...he lives just off one of the main trails.  We got caught up on some family news and got to meet one of their band new grandsons...they had two grandsons born just a few weeks apart.   They also saved some Purple Coneflower seeds for us.

Back at home I have been working on catching up on the Christmas ornaments.  I am back on track again with 54 completed....just about half done!

  1. My goodness you are a busy person! Loving that Ranger I see!
Not much happening here, just getting set up for cold weather.

  2. That sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday. Riding around in the woods with your boyfriend/husband and meeting a new baby. It doesn't get much better than that.

  3. It has to be nice to have relatives nearby.

  4. Those trail rides look like fun. Our ash trees are nearly bare today, and some of the maples are orange. But I have a couple of red maples in my yard that are just barely showing any color yet. They are always last.

  5. That sounds like such fun, riding the trails and finding different ways around in the woods. You could even make your own map from your trips. It's good to get a visit in with family too and seeing that new baby! The woods are beautiful along with the changing leaves!

  6. Wow, half done the ornaments at 54. You and Far Guy are incredibly ambitious!

The trail side sounds like fun, and seeing a new babe would be a sweet treat. Take care, stay well.

  10. Wow, you have a lot of relatives living in your area! You could have your own Ranger convoy. I thought Aspen only grew out West in the mountains, love them. Never heard of Aspens called Popples, or Piss Popples. I take it they spew things. We have the smaller version (Birch) growing on our land, but I might need to add some Aspen.

    1. When you throw a piece of popple on a campfire they emit moisture on the cut ends...it bubbles and drips:)

  12. Almost like over the river and through the woods. Your horses don't eat hay though.

  13. Your tree colors are gorgeous. How neat that you can take the trails to get to your cousin's house. I'd get a horse if I lived there but would have to train it not to spook at all the engines riding the trails.
