My baby brother dropped off his Ranger for us to take a trail ride. We headed for the Smoky Hills.
Not much happening there...we saw a Ruffed Grouse.
It isn't green in the woods yet. It was a beautiful day for a ride the afternoon temperatures were in the 70's. No early Spring flowers blooming yet.
We did not go up this trail. There are many State Forest Roads to follow.
Can you see the Swan?
Headed for home.
It was a great afternoon out and about!
Far Side
Looks like a fun ride.
ReplyDeleteWow it sure is nice that you have all of those trails around you. It looks like you aren't far from state lands? Either way those trails would be nice to explore I imagine. We are greening up here quite a bit and I even found a black morel yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI did spot the swan. Do you know which species? I have a lot of trouble telling the species apart. Glad to hear you had a warm day.
ReplyDeleteMost likely a Trumpeter Swan as those are the most common in our area:)
DeleteWhat great weather for your trail adventures.
ReplyDeleteA nice ride. I saw the grouse & the swan. Wonderful pictures of the outdoors. Karen
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Spring Afternoon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice day out! :)
ReplyDeleteNice scenery!
ReplyDeleteWhat peaceful trails to ride. It really was a beautiful afternoon. I decided to golf with my husband yesterday afternoon. I had already taken the morning off work to go get my annual physical, so no one was going to miss me the rest of the day either.
ReplyDeleteI did see the swan! It looks like a really great ride. We had unexpected rain here yesterday so there wasn't much outside work done, but the deer did eat my newly planted flowers in the backyard. I may have to go back to marigolds as I've heard they don't like those.

A wonderful way to get out and enjoy the nicer weather. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteEverything there is still brown and tan.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice outing for you both. It was wonderful to see the swan!
ReplyDeleteFREEDOM! It's nice to get out after we've had to stay in for so long.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been fun!💖
ReplyDeleteI can smell the fresh air right through these pictures, Connie. I don't believe there's much better than this. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou have a great baby brother! :)
ReplyDeleteDoing something beside (being inside) is always so NICE
ReplyDelete70 degrees! Wonderful for you and your fellow Minnesotans. A fun way to spend the day too.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! You have lots of great trails.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day to be out and about! I think I saw the swan.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the swan until I enlarged the picture. That sounds like a great way to spend a lovely Spring day.
ReplyDeleteI think baby brother is trying to get you hooked. If you get your own ranger, you can all go exploring together. Looks like you've got great trails nearby either way. Glad you two had fun!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun ride. You've got an awfully nice brother there. It will be so pretty when things start to green up. But your ride was still pretty. Love the swan.
ReplyDeleteWe love getting out in the bush.
ReplyDeleteThat first trail would have been too tempting for me. I just love peeking around the bend to see where a road leads.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great adventure. You need some green on those trees. I drive my tundra truck and I think I am pretty hot stuff, to Ace Hardware.
