Blue Dishes

I needed a project on Friday morning. So I washed those blue dishes in the open cupboards.   That was the end of the Spring Cleaning in the kitchen.   Far Guy helped!  Somehow we drag each other into some projects.

We finished just in time to head for town for my last eye test.   I have looked at the green star twice now ...they told me they were two different tests and the test for macular degeneration where there are lights that move around and you have to press the button.  Old people tests.  I would guess I passed the tests..the Doctor will send out a written report after he has reviewed everything.

It rained most of the afternoon and the temps were in the 40's.  A chilly Spring day in Minnesota.

What a beautiful kitchen I could admire that photo for a long time!
I've had those same tests especially when I worked in Security. We had to have some rather thorough vision tests every year along with our physicals.

Someone needs to do some spring cleaning around here. My windows need washing but it has been so cold every day that I just keep putting it off. We are about to go watch 2 of the grandkids play soccer this morning - in the cold. BRRR!

Very pretty kitchen and dishes, are they your everyday dishes? I'm gad that you feel all went well with the eye tests. It sometimes seems that the tests go on and on.
Takce care and hope it's warming up now.
Blessings,
Betsy

I've been dealing with AMD for years now, and I've gotten used to those tests. Hope you passed without showing any of it.

Hope the eye tests show your eyes are fine.

All your cleaning should inspire me. It’s not working. I make piles of stuff and can never find anything.

Praying you pass your tests. I have to do the little white light for the glaucoma test. So far, it is not progressing and would not be at the point it is if the doctor I used for "years" had been more astute.
I really really hope you don't have macular degeneration - - and if you do that it is the "better" one.
It's unfortunate that I took for granted the way my body functioned without problems when I was younger. "Things" have happened to me that I thought would not - - because "I" wasn't going to let myself get that way. LOL.

Looks like a two person job, with one handing those beautiful blue dishes and decor down to the other - and then in reverse. Many jobs are just easier with two people. I see you even have a blue standing mixer upper. Do you use it a lot? Brad recently asked me if we should get one. In the past I wanted one but couldn't afford them. Our handheld (two blender) mixer, which is pretty old by now has worked well for my occasional baking. Brad does makes pizza/stromboni crust. Can't think of what the benefit of one would be. Goof luck with your eye test results. If you think you passed with flying colors, then you most likely did.

Yes we use the mixer for bread mostly...it was our go to appliance for making pumpkin dog treats!

Good luck with your eye tests!

How nice that Far Guy helped you with the shelves. That kind of a job goes much faster with two people. I have always loved those blue dishes! I hope your eye tests go well!

Nice that FarGuy helped with the last of the nooks and crannies in the kitchen. Cool blue dishes. I like the dark blue Kitchenaid! Mine is a dark gray--almost black--with a bit of shimmer if you look close. Yours goes perfectly with your blue dishes. I hope you will be making more dog treats soon. ;)

I hope you get good news on the eye tests. Enjoy the sun. Could get snow again tomorrow.

The tests with all the lights is for peripheral vision. It's a test where the machine wasn't working

My 30 year old daughter has AMD. I worry about it constantly. She must wear dark glasses when outside and I tell her that she looks like a movie star. Gosh, I wish someone here would start spring cleaning!

Very pretty display of dishes and the configuration of the shelves is very unique.

Good luck on the eye tests! I was told on my last visit I'm developing a cataract on one eye. But nothing needs to be done with it yet.

Good to know!

I do not like those tests where you have to press the clicker every time you see a flashing light. My reflexes are too slow and I'm pressing but the flash is long gone.

Our 93 your old friend is now dealing with a possible diagnosis of Macular degeneration. She reads and writes and uses the computer and watched sports on TV and this diagnosis would be devastating. My mother was nearly blind wit MD by the end of her 89 years.
I wish you good eye health.

My mom collected blue dishes... she would have loved your collection. I hope you have good results from your eye tests. Enjoy your weekend!

I love your blue dishes! I always wonder about open shelving...do you have to dust it?

We have had a week filled with eye doctor, dentist, and vet appointments. Getting old is tough for everyone, even the dog!

We had freezing temps for 3 nights this week, but now finally it's warming up, hope you get some sun soon.

We use some of the dishes and yes I dust the shelves from time to time but they all need a good wash twice a year especially the ones on the top shelf!

Oh. I did that green star thing a couple of weeks ago too. We don't press the beeper when we see the blink anymore. My eye specialist has some sort of computerized thing that can read what we see and where. I have glaucoma.
We have things on the top of the kitchen cabinets that we rarely, if ever, use. I think they will need a couple of cycles through the dishwasher to get them clean again.

Your blue dishes are so pretty on that shelf. A great display! I had that test every 6 months until Covid. I need to get my cell phone set up and then make appointments.
