Zinnia Corner Revisited

We went by Zinnia Corner this week.  It isn’t exactly a corner of blooms anymore but more of a border along the highway.

Zinnia Corner Aug 2016

Years ago I stopped and talked to the farmer who lives just north of the Zinnia planting.  It was a pleasure to met him, when he was school age and rode the bus he passed a place that had huge plantings of Zinnias and he was inspired.  He told himself someday if he could afford it…he would plant Zinnias.

Zinnias close up

A childhood dream come true.

I wonder if someone on a School Bus might be inspired likewise on Tuesday morning when school begins here in Minnesota?

This planting is North and West of Glyndon Minnesota.

I am glad he was inspired. That is so pretty. It would be nice if more kids today would get such an inspiration. Have a lovely weekend.

How nice to do that and inspire others! I heard that butterflies really like them too. Mine are fading but that was because of the heat and mildew. It's cooler now so maybe they will make a comeback? Happy Labor Day weekend....lots of labor going on around here with the cooler temps!

I'm just thinking about how many people that guy touches with his gesture of planting zinnias. How could one not be enthused and smiling after driving past that. It's wonderful!

Beautiful - I'm sure everyone who passes the flowers unconsciously smiles when they see them.

Wonderful! It would make me smile every time I passed it.

That is so cool! Maybe it will inspire another child on the bus--yes! :)
Hard to believe the kids are going back to school already...but I am more than ready for fall this year. :)

That is so pretty! I love Zinnias! and to think, I don't have any luck planting one small pack. I laughed reading your last post about getting the ID and the stool sample. Poppy was answering a bunch of questions on the phone a while back, checking on a medical claim, and asked them if they needed his shoe size too.

Now that's what I would call a field of zinnias. They are very colorful and long lasting.

When we would drive from Kansas to Colorado there was a huge field of zinnias. They were beautiful. I always wanting to pick a bouquet to take to the cabin with us!

Happy September to you. I love Zinnias and raided my granddaughter's garden this week for some-of course, I've been watering so I knew they wouldn't mind. They are such beautiful flowers.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend.

Every year I say I'm going to plant more zinnias next year...and I do...and I say I'm going to plant more the next year... Rapidly becoming my most favorite flower. I would LOVE to see this IRL.

I had wondered about this field of flowers. I of course am envious of such a flower bed. My one flower only zinnia bed seems pretty small but it still is great to have.
