Winning Attitude

People with disabilities are on two television shows this season, Idol has Scott who has been blind since birth. The Amazing Race has Margie (The mom) with normal hearing and Luke (the son) who is deaf. It is wonderful watching these young adults with disabilities compete with everyone else. They both have winning attitudes, and I hope they both win.

Far Guy and I had a friend that had disabling Multiple Sclerosis, she has been in the Nursing Home nearby for years. Her beautiful soul left this earth yesterday. She was 59. I and Far Guy are very sad, but happy at the same time..she is free from the catheters and the wheelchair. When her older sister was killed in a motorcycle accident about ten years ago, she felt that it should have been her..because she felt she had nothing to live for..and her sister had so much to live for. Her winning attitude was shaken by her sisters death, it took her a long time to get her winning attitude back. Yesterday she became an ultimate winner.

We have lots of wheelchair photographs..this one seems more appropriate today:)

That she has now finished the race and is a winner is a good thing indeed.

Did you see Home improvement last week? Don't watch the show but the commercials for it caused me to look up "missing limbs", came across many people who are born without limbs, one fellow is amazingly inspiring and out there incouraging others.

So sorry for your loss...it sounds like she was wonderful woman. Thank you for sharing this very moving story.

I'm rootin' for Scott on American Idol too...every time he sings I get a lump in my throat.

We are also sorry for the loss of your friend. The Duke's mother had MS for many years. It is a terrible disease. But today your friend is dancing. Pain free and joyful.

What a beautiful picture of your friend, and so sorry about her loss... I have known several people throughout my life that have had MS, so I'm all too familiar with how it ruins their life and everyone around them. Sounds like she had an awesome attitude!

We are having a wonderful, fun time in AZ... went to the little mountain town of Jerome today, one of our favorite haunts. SOOOO sorry to see you've been snowed upon again! AND about your computer losses too. How awful... reminds me to get my mac on a good backup system... and soon.

Can't wait to get back home and back to bloggyland, this lil netbook is too slow and harder to maneuver around, so I'm not on top of all my comments, etc. :-(

Thanks for entering my contest, yes you commented, so you are entered, lol... GOOD LUCK (again!)

Every day is a gift. In that photo, life emantes from the face of your friend, and I know that today, those life rays have multiplied exponentially. But I'm sorry for your loss just the same. It's hard to be here still, sorting through it. Take care in your grieving...

What a wonderful tribute - especially that photo! I'm sure that is how she would like to be remembered.
