Book Club: March

We had book club a few weeks ago.  We read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.

Although is is a young adult book, I enjoyed it very much, I give it a 8 possibly a 9 out of 10 stars.  It was an easy read. All the gals in the bookclub enjoyed it.

I am going to send this over to my baby brothers house as he has some readers coming up that would enjoy this novel.

Far Guy and I had a quiet Saturday, recovery is slow.  He is still improving a bit each day.

Hatchet was a great read, I've reread a couple times over the years, I gave my copy to my grandsons to read.

I have read other YA books by Gary Paulson. Good author.

There are a number of sequels to Hatchet, and Gary Paulsen had written some nonfiction, too. One is about the dogs he'd had called My Life in Dog Years.

Oh, I read that book years ago, when I was teaching, and reccommended it to kids to read. It has always been one of my favorite young reader books.
Now that St Urdo has taken care of the grasshoppers, happy St Patrick's Day!

The improving bit by bit is good news! I will look into this book.

The best news is recovery each day even though it's slow. It doesn't get any easier as we get older does it?
Blessings,
Betsy

Nice you have young ones to pass it on to.
Glad to hear about the small improvements with FarGuy and I hope you are lots better, too. :)

Good news about Far Guy. And I hope you are feeling lots better too.

I don’t know why people can be so snippy about YA fiction. I have read quite a lot of YA books and some have been absolutely wonderful. I have never joined a book club because I am an extremely picky reader. Life is too short to read a book I don’t fancy.

Have a good week.

Thank you for the book recommendation. I see it is the first of five books. Are you going to read all of them?

I read this book years ago, when my son was of the age where he read it. It's a good story. Far Guy (and your) recoveries are good news.
