Baptism

Our newest Great Granddaughter  Ree was baptized on Sunday.

Isn't she a beauty!

Maddie and Ree

The family photo.

Ree was happy to be held by her Great Grandpa!

She is immediately calmed by her Great Auntie Jen.

The baptismal gown was made out of my wedding dress and worn by all three of our Great Grandchildren.

Romans 6: 3-4

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?  We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Such a beautiful child! Those family photos will be precious memories. I was thinking how lovely the baptismal gown is, don't see that type much any more- and to see that it was made from your wedding gown is extra special. From one Sacrament to another.

What a beautiful family! Nothing quite as sweet as a baby is there? I love that the baptismal gown is made from your wedding dress and is being used in the family. I remember years ago someone telling me that they did the same thing, and embroidered the baby name and baptism date inside the back of the dress each time it was worn again.

Ree is adorable. What a wonderful idea to use your wedding dress that way - I'm sure it will be a Family Treasure for many more babies to come :)
