Oranges, Books and other stuff

Grocery adventures included no oranges...really?   How can you be out of oranges.  I like oranges with my breakfast....actually I like Cara Cara oranges the best but will settle for other oranges.   I can adapt and will have grapes or cherries ...but adjustments are hard...I like a routine.

Book Club is held virtually...which is great for me.  I prefer it that way.

We read The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths, it was a gift from Kay in Kansas!  Thanks Kay!  The book club enjoyed the read...I give it an 8 out of 10.   I am passing it on to my friend Susie who is also in a book club.

My desk is full of projects...I am cutting some paper, making some cards and putting the starting stitches in a bunch of zippers for some crochet bags.

I am still stumped about our Christmas Card this year...I am making no progress figuring that out.

Far Guy had his weekly Infusion and I had my annual visit with my Dermatologist...I missed last year because of the Pandemic...so we are back on schedule.  She found a questionable spot so it was removed and sent in for biopsy and she took care of some skin tags.  I am good to go!   The waiting room only had a few people waiting and there was space to spread out.

Your table looks like a place where lots of artsy magic happens, Connie. It's beautiful! I hope you find your Christmas card mojo pretty soon... I hate that "stumped" feeling! ~Andrea xoxoxo

it's always good to be caught up with those regular doctor appointments. Hope your results on the skin are all good. I have to agree with the comment above as I was also thinking you had some creative magic happening on that table.

I've been thinking about Christmas cards for this year too. Last year you inspired me to do hand painted cards..but after painting cards for a year I'm not sure I'm up to doing that this year. Maybe I'll do it, but we'll see. Should be starting now. No oranges? There was a pile of them at the store when I was there yesterday. 89 cents apiece. I hope your store gets with the program for next week!

Your paper trimmer looks like mine but without the longer handle. A busy, creative looking table top. :)
I hope they have oranges for you next week.

Your craft table looks much like mine. I have a few items on it that I'm trying to decide how to use. Hope your inspiration for the Christmas card comes soon.

Well since you are stumped.... how about some small woodland creatures lined up on a stump looking at The Star shining so brightly in the night sky? We all need a sense of wonder and beauty this year.

I am finding weird things missing on grocery shelves and climbing prices. It's crazy! Hope you can figure out your Christmas card, I'm sure you will. Hope the infusions are helping Far Guy. Have a great weekend.

Never heard of Cara Cara oranges. I must look for them.

I've read the blurb about Crossing Places and have marked the book as a possible read AFTER the ones I just picked up from the library. I was trying to keep my reading confined to books I own but you know how it is. One hears about a book someone has read and enjoyed...

Local stores being out of things is common here. Today I went after buttermilk to make biscuits for tomorrow's breakfast, and one store was out of buttermilk, but the other store had. The other problem is often the produce in the case is allowed to deteriorate so much that no one is going to buy it. Thanks for the book recommendation. If the local library doesn't have it, they will get it through the inter-library loan system.

I love seeing a busy desk full of projects and happy activities! Good to hear you got caught up with your Dermatologist. This pandemic has really thrown a wrench into many of our regular appointments. I'm almost caught up on mine, just one more in October. I hope Far Guy is still doing better with his breathing. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Glad you liked your book club book. How weird that the store was out of oranges! I eat blueberries with my breakfast every morning! I am reading "Finding Sanctuary" by Jennifer Hubbard, one of the Sandy Hook School mothers in Connecticut who lost her 1st grader in the school shooting back in 2012. It's a bit hard to read...must be a lot harder to write. Have a good weekend you two.

You sound so busy...I guess if I think much I have a lot of projects waiting on me, too. Hoping I can continue on with one next week.

I tried to do an online grocery order for the first time since we moved. It was just last week. With the surge in numbers I thought maybe I shouldn't be taking Mom to the store anymore and I would just order groceries for both of us. Literally half of the things I wanted to order weren't available online. Like eggs and bread. Serously! I ended up going to the same store and EVERYTHING I had wanted was in plentiful supply inside. So why wouldn't they let me order them? I have n o idea.
Blessings,
Betsy

I prefer sweet Naval oranges. Our oranges are super small this year. I couldn't believe my eyeballs. Smallest medium oranges I've ever seen. Needless to say, I passed on the tiny orange things with an inflated price. None for the Orioles, or me. Love signs of a busy project desk! I wouldn't have it any other way. Clean = Boring. I haven't even thought about our Christmas Card, which means the special photo hasn't been taken yet. Am I the only one that misses wood mounted stamps? Just can't get into clingy things :/
