Fall Activities

I am getting ready for retreat.   I packed most of what I will need.  For days I had stuff laying all over.  I plan to work on the Christmas Cards and one of my Mosaic Crochet Projects....the one that has 20 squares and I have 13 done working on number 14.   I have not been to retreat for two years.

Yesterday I mowed the grass...with the rain we had it is actively growing again.   I mowed it pretty short with hopes that the leaves will sail across the lawn and go into the woods!

Very soon it will be leaf mulching time... I usually can get it done on 10 nice days before it snows.

Far Guy worked on woodcarving the Christmas Ornaments.  I have 70 ready to paint someday when things slow down.

I bet you are excited to go on this retreat! I know I was so happy to get away for 2 days myself earlier this year.

  6. Glad you're getting to go to the craft retreat this year. Sounds like great project choices to take with you. And it's great Far Guy has so many ornaments carved ready for you to paint when you can.

  7. What a name. Dead Beaver Area. Kind of sad. :-)
I'm glad you've figured out your packing. I usually spend more time deciding on what projects to bring for any trip than I do packing actual necessities. Have a wonderful time Connie.
    Blessings,

I mowed yesterday too and am hopeful the leaves will blow into my neighbour's yards. :)

  10. Have a wonderful time at your retreat, Connie. I used to love going to a tole painting retreat that our chapter held, many years ago. Such fond memories! It was a yearly event and oh my gosh, it was 3 lovely days of painting, eating, visiting, laughing. I wish I could go back and do just one of them over again. ~Andrea xoxoxo

  14. I'll have to live vicariously through your retreat. Up North I belonged to a rug hooking gild and we had so much fun and would go on road trips....here...nada even before Covid. But it's okay because I really don't have any desire to go anywhere or socialize much..lol! I'm happy for you though and I can't wait to hear all about it!

  15. Tom mowed today too. The leaves aren't falling yet, but the few we have will get raked into the flower beds.
    Have fun at your retreat!

  16. Hope your retreat goes great! Can't wait to hear about it. I don't like the sound of the "dead Beaver area".....something dastardly must have happened there!!!
