Just another day at retreat

I am still working on Christmas cards…I am making progress.  Slow but sure.

I have been to the same place for retreat eleven years. I have known most of the gals for a long time, they are mostly Teachers and Social workers or retired.  I am the oldest one here.  There is a huge room filled with six foot long tables so everyone has their own space. Off of the huge space are a kitchen, dining area, three bathrooms, a TV room, a dressing room and a number of bedrooms with twin beds. Once we get here we don’t have to leave unless we want too.  The grounds are lovely.  Most of the time the property is used as a wedding venue.

My baby brothers wife is here also, she is working on a cross stitch baby bib.

Long time friend Sarah is working on Christmas cards also…she will be done before me!

Son in law Andy cooked for us …pulled pork tacos, chips, salsa, margaritas and Mexican Mud Balls for dessert …fantastic food.  Andy went to visit Far Guy and stay the night…he will be back to cook Saturday night.

What a treasure Andy is!
Sounds like you guys are all getting some much needed time to enjoy yourselves and do crafts without 'guy' interruption!

This is such a good idea! Most people never have time to focus on their crafts.

It's quite beneficial to get together with a group and share ideas.

Having someone else cooking for you - that makes a retreat even better! I'm so sick of cooking! Hope you have a relaxing, productive - and rejuvenating weekend.

Oh my goodness! That retreat looks right up my alley. How fun! I don't know anyone around here that does anything like that. We used to have them with the ladies at church in Spokane before Covid.
Andy's meal sounds delicious. How nice of him to cook for you. He can come visit us anytime! Ha!
Enjoy your weekend Connie. I know you will.
Blessings,
Betsy

Having just returned from a retreat where my BIL cooked for us, I know how much you appreciate Andy. So nice to work, rest, and visit without worrying about cooking,

This sounds like so much fun and it seems to be the perfect place with plenty of room to spread out your supplies. I always enjoy seeing what creative things others are doing too. Andy is one special guy to cook for you ladies!

How fun your retreat sounds! Do you go out and walk around the grounds once in awhile? And how cool that Andy is cooking for you. Is this all some kind of a family deal? It does sound wonderful. Enjoy your days there!

A scoop of ice cream rolled in Oreo cookie crumbs then frozen, add strawberries or raspberries, some whipped cream with a cherry on top!

You are being well fed. That menu sounds delicious. I’m sure it’s fun to have people to visit with and projects to look at when coloring gets boring. I haven’t gotten inspired as to our Christmas cards for this year yet. I better get cracking though!

Andy could start up a cafe somewhere.
