Fall is coming on fast this last day of August. When we turn the calendar to September we here in Minnesota consider that Fall. We are leaving Summer behind. I mowed the lawn yesterday...mostly the parts that grow more than others. Leaves are falling out of the trees. School starts the day after Labor Day.
Masks are encouraged in Minnesota both inside and outside. If you are vaccinated...thank you! You may have saved a life.
A sign in the Finnish Church in Annandale Minnesota.
Far Side
Would you believe I am seeing signs of Fall already here in S.E. WI. Leaves turning colors and falling; birds flocking and stuffing themselves at feeders; school has started, and many more. In many respects I am looking forward to it, especially the cooler, less humid temps.
ReplyDeleteThe sign made me chuckle. I am glad to hear that Minnesota is taking the pandomic seriously. I wish more people in Ohio would. It is scary. I am back to wearing a mask when I shop. And I don't go out as often as I would like.
ReplyDeleteLove the sign. No tobacco and no dogs.
ReplyDeleteI agree that getting vaccinated saves many more lives than just our own. That is a funny sign. :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the Finnish smoked or chewed dogs!
ReplyDeleteI don't listen to weather men either. September is officially fall in my book too.
That sign brought a smile to my face this morning. LOL Fall is beginning to show up here too, and school started 10 days ago already. Our local school district just became the first one in SD to put the mask mandate back into effect. The vote was 5-0 in favor despite having lots of angry parents in attendance last night's board meeting. But they also had lots of parents supporting them too. I'm proud that they did what was right, and not what was easy.
ReplyDeleteCute sign! No masks around here or in Iowa. In Washington they are required everywhere indoors. People are angry about it too. I went shopping yesterday for groceries and the only masked people were me, one other customoer and the employees.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Bets
At last a sign prohibiting smoking dogs - about time!
ReplyDeleteYep, autumn is barreling down the road toward us at breakneck speed too. Personally I'm ready. I love that sign!! No smoking I can understand but man... dogs need church too. :-D ~Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteDespite the heat and humidity, I've noticed our trees are starting to turn. Fall is on the way, ready or not!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you...September 1st is the first day of Fall!
ReplyDeleteI love Fall but it will be hot here for at least another month. In my mind Fall begins in September, but not in our weather! I look forward to seeing the changing leaves where you live. We will be getting the Booster vaccine, but not until November. They tell us eight months after your last Covid shot.
ReplyDeleteYou must have literate dogs in the Finnish community! Children went back to school a week and a half ago here. Now this week four of the schools are already closed down and back to distance learning. Too many quarantined kids to stay open. I hope Minnesota does better.
ReplyDeleteI've been out walking these past three days delivering pamphlets on behalf of a local candidate and am noticing signs of fall everywhere. The ferns are dying back, the trees are dropping fruit and leaves, and the mornings are cool. I love fall but won't be happy to see winter any time soon.
ReplyDeleteLoved the sign!
Guess Granny can’t dip snuff there. 😝
ReplyDeleteIt might be in the 90's here in Northern Ohio, but I totally agree that September 1 is FALL! And I am glad to hear that more in your state are wearing masks. I ran into our grocery store on Sunday and I was the only person, shoppers, stockers, deli, cashier, baggers - the only person in a mask. We are averaging more than 10 times the cases per day as we were five weeks ago. Today I placed my curbside pickup order at a Kroger about 50 minutes away. I will not risk my health, my husband's health or my unvaccinated grandchildren's health for these people.
ReplyDeleteNo smoking or dogs what about catd..................
ReplyDeleteReally like the sign you saw.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments. Feeling like fall here too. It's suddenly become cooler.
ReplyDeleteWe are having cool weather this week, but the sun still comes out most days. We had 0.15 inches of rain in August, and that is more than we had in July. I want summer to linger, but we need some good old rain. The fires are still burning in the west.
ReplyDeleteNice sign. I can remember my Dad lighting up a roll-your-own as soon as we left the church parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI get the feeling that Fall is fast upon us. I looked at the long range forecast and we're falling into highs in the 60's for quite some time. We're making our winter campground reservations for Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. We'll see how that all works out this year!
ReplyDeleteThe chilly nights are a sign Autumn is here where I am.
ReplyDeleteOh, you lucky dog! I'll probably have to wait until the end of October! Although it looks like the 90's maybe over with.
ReplyDeleteIn one church I visited one of the members brought his Chihuahua. I was told it attended regularly with him. He tucked it under his arm when he walked down the aisle passing the offering plate.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting visit to that church ~ cross that off the Bucket list!
