Oh Deer!

The deer are thirsty.   They come in to drink from the bird baths.  I took these photos out the kitchen window...they came into the yard as I was making supper.

We have not see her and her twins for a couple of weeks.  Mama looks a bit skinny.

The twins still have their spots.

Nice they're all still alive so far. Drought is hard on them, too.

Wow, that is such a great clear photo. The deer here have plenty to eat and the morning dew/fog is so heavy that even the mules aren't that thirsty during the day after eating wet grasses.
It must be fun watching them. I know last fall the deer would come down by the outhouse to graze on the weeds growing out by huge old dirt piles. We enjoyed watching them a lot.

It's nice to have water for the critters, even if they don't have feathers. :-)

We have twins too, though it's possible that we're down to one baby, as the last couple days I've only seen one. :(

I'm glad they can get a drink. Must be so hard :-(.

Mama does look really thin. I hope she's okay. This time of year she should be fat and sleek. Thank you for keeping your birdbath full for them to drink from. It's been such a hot year. It's just plain miserable outside this morning. All of the windows are covered with humidity.
Blessings,
Betsy

I haven't seen the 3 fawns (2 moms) in over a week here either. But I think they come through when it's dark these days.

When I checked your blog this morning all of the photo links were broken. I don't know if anyone else experienced this or if it's just me. I checked a few other blogs and they seem ok. Just wanted to let you know.

The young ones are so cute with their spots. I can't imagine it is good that mom is so thin at this time of year.

Our deer here are lucky as the lake is right across the street. I have filled the bird baths though. We've had rain now so things are better.

I am surprised by where I see deer this summer. We live in a suburb of Kansas City, MO with I-70 ( interstate) going right through. I have seen way too many deer these past few weeks. We have been hot but with enough rain off and one and things are still green.. so why are the deer ( does) leaving their usual spots??

Deer don't mind helping themselves to s few things like my petunias. they are rude enough not to ask.

Great pictures of the deer. I hope they drink the water in the bird baths but leave your flowers alone.

What beautiful pictures you took. And right thru your window too. Amazing. Hope your temps are starting to cool down. Take care.

It is nice of the birds to share their water :)

Maybe a stock tank on the edge of the property would help. I am just kidding.
