One Day At A Time

Yesterday was a looong day.  Up early and a long drive to the University of Minnesota for a cat scan, lung tests and a six minute walk for Far Guy.

The Doctor says, "keep doing what you are doing ... the left lobe of the lung is not all the way collapsed as we hoped for, part is sunken... will reevaluate in six to eight weeks as more procedures/replacing valves may be called for."

And so it goes one day at a time. We arrived home safe and sound last evening.

Highlight of the day.  Remember the old Police Cars with the bubble on top...think Barney in Mayberry RFD.  We passed one...what fun to see....here it is in the rear view mirror.

How cool was that seeing that old police car. I haven't seen one in decades. I will continue to keep Far Guy in my daily prayers; hoping he does improve.

My goodness. Indeed you can only take one day at a time.

Well, I guess it could always be worse I guess. Don't you love it when they say keep doing what you're doing? I do love that car too. Old days.
Blessings,
Betsy

I do hope FG continues to improve. And I haven't seen one of those police cars in ages!

That was a LONG drive for you. I hope he keeps improving gradually.

Wonder where that old police car was headed. How fun to see it.

Far Guy's lung sounds so painful, Connie. :-( My prayers will continue for him and for you too! I'm glad you folks made it there and back safely. And oh, what a treat to see that old police car!! I would have been thrilled too! ~Andrea xoxoxo

I think you were driving the wrong car to be passing that police car! Prayers. I know how wearing those days can be. One day at a time is right. I think of Far Guy often.

Much love to you as you “keep doing what you are doing”. I enjoy those nostalgic moments when seeing old cars on the roads and that one was unusual!

Medical checks seem to drag on forever with check-ups and more check-ups.

I hope all goes well for your husband. This has been a very long journey for both of you. Take care!

Continued prayers for your husband.
We watched all the reruns of the Andy Griffith Show and my husband has their theme song as his phone ringer.

It must be frustrating, especially for Far Guy, but for you too wanting so much for his health to improve without further intervention. I certainly hope the next check-up shows much more improvement.

I don't know that I've actually seen a police car with a bubble except in movies and television programs. Very cool!

Days like that so exhausting. Rest well today...Dear Friends.

Sounds exhausting, in more ways than one. Time for rest, relaxation and more healing for Far Guy. Thinking of you both!

Long trip for one day! Glad you got decent news. Glad to be back home, I'm sure.
Fun to see old patrol car. :) Rest up.

That was a long and tiring trip, especially to take in one day. Far Guy remains in my prayers and you too. He is blessed to have you by his side.

I love the old police car! I can't remember when I last saw one of those. You know, I still miss the old red fire engines. You two rest and recover from your trip!

I guess "Keep on doing what you are doing" is as good a news as any. May you find peace and pleasure in your "one day at a time".

Happy for what is hopefully good news.

I suppose being told to keep on doing what you're doing is en encouragement in a way. A day like that calls for a day of resting up I'd say. Driving is exhausting.

Very few native orchids here this year even at Hayden Prairie on the Iowa border. Just plain too dry. Ray

I hope this is good news for Far Guy... I guess if doc says "keep doing what you're doing" then it must be okay for now. We continue tomkeep him/both of you in our prayers. // I know it dates us, but those of us old enough to have seen things like those early police cars are pretty lucky to have lived during those simpler times. 🙂

The Chef has been to hospital 6 times recently. He’s going again today, and then again Saturday, probably next Wednesday too. Nothing like so far to go as you have, but just lately it’s taken up so much time.
Good luck to Far Guy.
