We have friends who we used to "do supper" with once a month ...before covid. It has been a long time since we got together.
I cooked, Far Guy was the sous chef. We made New York Strip Enchiladas, Far Guy's dip with chips, grapes and melons and Kuchen without a crust...so it was a custard with raspberries and blueberries. We had a good time.
Buddy has been on a diet so he appreciated the handouts in the kitchen.
He was real interested in the bear smells in the yard.
After supper we went out for a ride.
This old Gas Station sign is just down the road a few miles...makes for a perfect photo op! Buddy liked the ride too!

How nice to have supper with friends and I love the photo op. Buddy is cute.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a perfect evening! Love the photo in front of the Texaco sign. That is so fitting.
ReplyDeleteWishing I could get my husband to commit to going for a ride with me to anywhere! :)
Oh, how nice to have a meal again with old friends!!
ReplyDeleteAnd dog company, too. :)
Nice you were able to have a meal with your friends.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you were able to get together with old friends. We all need to start getting "out" again. You are right about that old gas station. It is the perfect back drop for the old car.
ReplyDeleteI notice that Far Guy used the "new" old car. What fun. So good to see and hug friends again.
ReplyDeleteHaving friends over....PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteAh, life as we used to know it! I'm so glad that you were able to be with friends again. I'm hoping we can do the same soon and start having people over. Love tje car ride and doggy company too? I'm sure you were both thrilled.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Sounds like a really nice evening. The old gas station really did make a perfect spot for a photo!
ReplyDeleteA slice of normal - how wonderful for you!
ReplyDeleteLove the White walls!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear! I ran into to a former co-worker the other day on the street and we visited briefly in her back yard. It's the first time I've gotten together with a friend since the beginning of the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure riding in the old car is feels wonderful too.
Buddy is a handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteMy Grandpa was a mechanic, and he always ran a gas station at his shop - from the 60s to the mid-80s, it was a Texaco. We still have some of the signs, etc from it. Whenever I see an old Texaco sign (very rare in Canada), I get a little excited. One day, I'd love to get an old pump for my dad for his basement - but they are big $$ now.
Great photo of the land yacht! It’s such a beautiful car.
ReplyDeleteThat car sure looks great! And that picture could have been taken decade ago. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the photo with the old gas station. Remember running over the hose that went ding. Attendant came right out.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to return to normal. I bet you had a great time catching up and the photo is priceless! Such fun.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you could get together with friends
ReplyDeleteThat new old car is looking good! A comfortable ride for four adults and a dog. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you could entertain friends again.
What a fun evening!
ReplyDeletePerfect setting for the photo op.
ReplyDeleteoh a delicious dinner...and a fun car ride. what a great time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun evening with friends. I love seeing the car in front of the old Texaco sign. That picture could have easily come out of the past!
ReplyDeleteDoesn’t it seem a treat to get back to dinner with friends after a year of isolation? I’ll never again take things like that for granted now. We have trips and visitors planned all July and August, trying to catch up with everyone.
