Rough Roads

Our area roads are still rough.  We sneak out the back way or make it through one mile of construction to another country road.

We took my baby brothers Gator out to survey the area.   That sand will suck you in...we heard that someone was stranded in the sand overnight until the construction crew came back the next morning.

Seems like so many people are having rough roads lately...Dementia, Cancer, Death, Drug and Alcohol Addiction.  The sadness of it all overwhelms me sometimes.

I agree: it's such a shame so many are having such a rough time of it lately.

The city I live in is totally under construction. I can't go anywhere without having to take a detour. It also seems like so many people I know are having a rough time of it lately. My prayer list gets longer ever day. As the old saying goes, "God never promised us a rose garden". You are in my prayers.

Looks like that road should have to come up quite a ways so it won't be under water when it rains hard!
Eeeks. Are you supposed to drive on that?

I find life getting overwhelming sometimes also. Is there any chance you can get a good dose of Mikey? Little children seem to help me as much as anything. I miss the first graders I used to teach.

I know what you mean about getting overwhelmed sometimes. That road is a disaster. Hope it gets more passable soon. And I've got you and Far Guy in my thoughts, hoping things take a turn for the better.

We're managing cancer. We try to take each day as it comes, turn off the news when we have to, and try to find some pleasure each day. It's difficult some days, I know.
All the best.

All the bad can overcome you easily. Time to take a nap and refuel your stores.
The news ,even the weather , it seems they make every little thing a disaster or on the verge of one. They are fighting so hard for ratings. It all wears me out at times. I just quit listening and focus on what is good. The quiet noises soothe the soul.

Construction season can be troublesome, but the end result is worth the frustration. I try to look at life's rough times like that too: my faith and a Pollyanna outlook help me cope.

That road is horrid, hopefully they finish the construction soon! I find I need to look for the small joys in life; a new bloom, my grandson's laugh, the purr of my cat to avoid the low times. Life isn't easy and I think as we age we are touched by it more.

I came over from Red's Hiawatha House to say hi and to send the best vibes your way. I've been on some dirt roads in North Dakota, but only in the dry season. I have heard stories when it rains.

What a road! Our city is completely under construction this summer. It does get frustrating.
Life is hard. It seems like it is worse now than I ever remember. Maybe it's because being online, by circle of friends and people I care about has expanded. Whatever it is, I try to turn it over to the Lord because I'm such a worrier I would make myself looney tunes if I didn't. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.
Amen.

Summertime and road construction seem to go together and yours look like a pain!
It becomes so overwhelming when we see so much pain and suffering all around us. Sometimes all we can do is pray. But we have to take care of ourselves so we can be more help for those close to us. I hope you can find something relaxing and enjoyable to do to take your mind off things. You are both in my prayers.

The roads are difficult everywhere it seems...roads and everything else seem harder to negotiate. Here in Norway I can ignore it all in the States for a bit, but I know it is all waiting for me to get home.

Seems like every where we go there is road construction...

When I see roads like that, I turn around... mostly because our beat-up-needs-work vehicle would never make it through. I agree, our world has too much *construction* going on. Very sad, indeed. Good thing we have prayer for that. Blessings. ♥♥

We have a lot of road construction here too... tis the season, I guess. I agree that many are suffering... and that it seems like so many more than we are used to.

Sometimes it all seems to come at once and we become a little confused.

Glad you're home for a little bit and please don't get trapped in that sand! I have my second chemo trtment this week and not looking forward to it. But then, who would be? Tonight I feel a bit better....and I know how you and far guy feel with all the tests and traveling, etc happening in your dear lives. Hope you can feel my prayers for only good things for both of you in the future! Peace and Blessings!

Do be careful with all that construction. Yes, I know many blog friends dealing with unimaginable situations. Both my sister and my little great niece are in need of prayer also.
