2nd Childhood

While I was out funeraling (going to a funeral)  Far Guy was buying a bike from one of his classmates online.

It barely fit in the vehicle...he suggested I ride it home...NOT.

My bike is in the living room...all stationary ...comfy seat great view of the TV and very little possibility of me falling off and injuring myself.   He says "That bike is boring."

"Boy it takes a lot of balance to ride a bike" ...he had forgotten that part.

Yes it is a girls bike...easier on the hips...safer to get off of!  He left his Oxygen in the vehicle...I hollered at him "You don't have your oxygen!!"  He knew that too.

I have often wondered if I could still ride a bike. I spent most of my childhood riding one up and down the sidewalk in front of our home!

I would like riding but dont like riding in traffic. I grew up in the country so never had that to contend with...besides, likecyou say. Now there is that seat....

I've been wondering if I can still ride a bike, too. I rode one all over the area I lived in. Very few cars on the residential streets. No sidewalks so we often rode down the middle of the road.

Riding a bike is one of the things I sometimes wish I could still do. Good luck to Far Guy with his new bike.

LOL... I had to say something to my hubby the other day too when he came out to tell me something I was not doing 'right' with the lawn mower. He made a face when I reminded him of his 02. However, being free of it may feel good for a little bit.
I have an old Huffy bike I thought I'd ride it, but the hills are so steep here. So kids use it on the lower half of the driveway when they visit.

I haven't ridden a bike in years... actually, in decades! I tried the stationery bike when I was in cardiac rehab and it killed my knees, so I guess my bike riding days are over!

Glad to see FG still hanging in there and doing very well on that bike! I thought I might take it up again a few years back, but I didn't like riding in traffic, and there's no way to avoid that, it seems. I gave the bike I bought away after a few months. :-)

Good for FG! I'm impressed as I don't think I'd have the balance to ride a bike. Nor do I have a stationary one. Good one you for doing that too.

Way to go, FarGuy!

Yay for Far Guy! And yay for you! We have to get our exercize... er, I mean fun (lol)... any way we can! I still ride a bike at 62. A few years ago I bought myself a mountain bike and I love that type better than any other I've ever had! I'm all for solitary areas with no traffic. Have a blessed day! ♥

Just had our bikes tuned up at a bike shop and the shop owner told us they now make 'step through' bikes. They are no longer 'girls bikes'.

Now that's the way to have fun and get exercise. I got a bike last summer and love it - when my knee lets me ride it. When you have not been on one in years it can be a challenge. The balance thing does take practice!

Stationary bikes are boring unless they have interval programs. I gave my bike away when I moved. It didn't have many miles on it because I don't trust riding the same streets as vehicles - too dangerous. Get a backpack for the oxygen and pedaling away.

Nothing like the joy of leaving your oxygen behind and riding a bike again. For all of you that wonder, I think, as they say, it's something you never forget. Just like riding a bike....right?

Sounds like your boy is enjoying being naughty and feeling a bit daredevilly.

My bike is also all stationary like yours, with my Kindle fixed to the handle bars when I ride it.
Will Far Guy go far?

I’m trying To get Paul to trade his for one easier to get on and off of. Far Guy is smart!

We have a stationary bike that no one rides. I never learned to ride a real bike.

I haven't been able to ride my bike for over a decade but I can't part with it. Getting rid of it would be like admitting I may never ride it again and I used to love to tool about. So it hangs in my garage--LOL! Bully for FarGuy!! :)

Oh good for Far Guy! I love riding a bike, of course not so much in traffic, but otherwise it's great! We also have a stationary bike, which both the doctor and the chiropractor recommended I get when I tore cartilage in my knee. To avoid surgery I was to cycle and build up the muscle to support the knee. It worked, I cancelled my appointment with the surgeon. I hope FG is able to build up some endurance and be able to go out for some cycles. You can always follow behind in the car, lol!

Men! They don't listen very well do they? I'm glad Far Guy is feeling up to bike riding. He needs an oxygen backpack.
I gave my bike to Mandy when they moved to Nebraska because I can't ride much anymore with all of the hills here. I figured she could ride with Piper.
Blessings,
Betsy

As long as the path allows you to freely roll then things are fine. I don’t want any hills and my legs definitely are the first to give out with them. I should be fun for him.
