My grandfather used to grow these in his yard. I always loved watching the ants open the flower buds. Beautiful color peony.

Our peony plants are out everywhere. I also love to watch the ants working hard to get them open. :-)

They are fascinating peonies. Mine did do better this year even though it is in clay soil.

That is a beautiful color. Our peonies are almost spent now. They have been gorgeous in color up at the lake. Pinks and white. And the smell. Oh my!
Blessings,
Betsy

Peonies = ants! And one always hides out and gets a ride in the house when you bring one in for a vase. That’s okay, though, because nothing smells better than a peony. Enjoy!

I guess your Peony is going for quality instead of quantity.
It IS a pretty colour.

I had on of these years ago and then lost it. I do know that they seem to be hard to find now and if you do are very expensive....

Oh I just love peonies.....I used to have some beauties in a different house where I lived years ago. I never had a bush that just got ONE flower though. And I never had a fern leaf peony. That's a special kind for sure! Enjoy the beautiful flower and the wonderful smell. Take good care you two!

It's going to be a beauty when it opens! My bushes did that for several years...just one bloom and then all of a sudden they grew up and now I get lots of blooms per bush.
