Slow progress

Appointments are done for the week!  I am making slow progress in Physical Therapy.  It is a literal pain in the butt.  My "sit bone" is still painful.  Sometimes it is better and sometimes worse.

We can finally see out the living room window...well we could see out before but it was all snow.  At least now I can see trees and the sky and sunshine!

My socks are coming along.  I have two pairs of socks going at once...that way I do stuff four times and maybe my old brain will "get it." I am just beginning the heel flap on this set above.
This pair is working up nicely.  I am still  working on the legs of this set.
I am learning as I go...I am keeping notes...and keeping track of my rows.
I am reasonably glad I began this adventure in socks, when I get these four socks off the needles I will make a final decision about my ability to knit socks!

  1. That is great...look out your window! Eeeks! Sunlight. The snow is going fast here, just a lot left where the drifts were deep and in the woods and along the north hillsides. It is so muddy here!

  2. That must feel so good to be able to finally look out your window and see something besides snow. The new socks are looking good. I like the colors. Have a great weekend.

  3. Glad the appointments are done for the week, and you can relax and enjoy working on your socks now. Hope you're pleased with the results. Also, glad you're starting to see more than just snow out of the window.

  4. I don't think there is anything you can't do. Your socks looks wonderful. And it's sure nice to see the snow beginning to melt even in your neck of the woods. :-)

  6. Oh man, Connie.... that's still so much snow yet, darlin'. Yikes! I was outside spreading mulch this morning at 8am and it was 36 degrees. So at night I guess it could technically still now here in northwest Indiana but.... I'm glad it's not. :-) Love, Andrea xoxo PS~ Your socks are wonderful!!

  7. I really admire you sock work! I tried some argyle once. There were a lot of colors hanging down on those little holders! I finished one but never finished its mate!

  8. Working on more than one sock at a time is a great way to cement the procedure in your mind. I've done that, too. Looks you're using Patons Kroy Sock yarn in the last photo. I love that yarn - it knits well, washes well, and wears well.

  11. This has been a long cold winter for us in Southern California. Just when I think that Spring is here, it rains again. Rain is easier to deal with than snow but I am not used to being cold and wet.

Just wanted you to know that I read you everyday and I appreciate the fact that the calendar is filled with appointments. Staying healthy and keeping the chronic conditions under control takes up a lot of time.

  12. Would you like to trade for my torn rotator cuff.

  13. You have us beat in the snow front. We’re down to about 6 inches in the yard after the past week. It was 65° yesterday! Three days in a row of 60s took a big chunk out of the snow. It hasn’t even get below freezing recently. It’s much cooler today but still sunny. Your socks are coming along beautifully. I think you’re going to be a pro at them soon. Blessings,

  15. That's quite a bank of snow outside your window, and it was higher?! Wow. I know nothing about knitting socks, but good for you for taking on the challenge.

  16. I know you will be glad to see the end of the snow! I hope the physical therapy starts helping more...I should go back through your blog to see what happened for you to have to have the therapy.

I am loving the colors for the socks!

  17. Goodness! Thankfully the snow in the twin cities is almost gone! I was worried reading your blog that we might have to battle mountains of snow. Hope spring comes a little quicker for you.

  18. Snow is kind of nifty at the beginning at the season but now it is getting to be extremely a pain. I like all the blue things.

  19. Sorry you still have the pain to deal with. And thanks for wishing me well after my careless fall. I could kick myself but that would just hurt more. I wrenched my knee and that will take a bit to heal I'm sure.

  22. Oh, I hope you feel better soon! Look at you go with the socks! Maybe I should try learning your way. I just got my yarn today so I will be 'casting on' this week! We should have a Skype craft group....that would be fun! Especially for those of us who don't get out much! LOL!
