Garage Sale and leaves

The garage sale is over, I am in the process of packing it up, some is being donated and some will go into bins for the next sale.   The neighbors down the road had a moving sale so that brought a few more buyers to the area.  Now I will have room for the lawn furniture…and the lawnmower when the time comes to put it away for the winter.

I mowed the lawn and mulched leaves for the first time Friday…about nine more times to go.  I could not believe the amount of leaves that had fallen in the yard.  The lawn was a bit long in places so now maybe the leaves will blow off into the woods…well I can always hope.

The Coneflowers are still blooming!  These are on the back drive, a patch we planted many years ago are still making flowers!

Nice to have a garage sale that gives you more room in the garage. And you are one-ninth done with the leaves, that's progress, right? :-)

Did you have the garage sale yesterday, as I am thinking it is only 11am there?
Hoping to get to some ourselves this morning.

I shiver to think about leaf raking time being just around the corner.

Glad you did get rid of quite a bit with the garage sale. That's always a plus.
Yes. The season of the leaves has arrived. I am glad to see the cooler weather and the mosquitoes dying--LOL! ;)

So happy fall is here, and I don't have leaves to rake...except for the dropping rose leaves.

Glad you have more room now that the sale is over. We have some large items, doors etc., that we are donating to Habitat. Thankfully, they will pick up here at our house. Like you, it will be nice to have room for the important things.
We were out driving yesterday. Some leaves are falling but not much color yet. I love the purple coneflowers. Have a good afternoon.

I have three Ash in my yard: they are usually the first to turn and the first to drop their leaves. It's been raining for nearly three days which usually makes the soggy leaves quickly drop.

I hope your leaves blow into the woods! Mine will blow into the roof gutter and I will have to get out the ladder to clean them out. Pretty cone flowers. I like that the seed heads add some texture to the winter snow.

That tree looks like it has a lot more leaves to drop. Pretty though. And the Coneflower is so pretty too. Maybe next Spring I'll have a few more volunteers because I have only two this year.

I need to mow our lawn also, but it's way too wet. It's cold here. Fall has arrived.

Most of the leaves are still on the trees here. That’s a chore still to come. I collect them in leaf bins (like compost bins for leaves) and when they’ve rotted down they’ll go on woodland beds. Useful stuff.

Garage sales are a big pain to organize. You've got the right idea to throw some away and donate other stuff because it's probably not going to sell in the next garage sale.

I admire you for organizing a garage sale. It's a great way to recycle things you don't need, and helps to keep items out of the landfill.I love the pictures of the coneflowers. I may be mistaken, but I think they are echanacea plants, which are sometimes used to make a medicinal tincture.

Yes they are called Echinacea Plants or Purple Coneflowers :)

I love ash trees and they burn well in the fireplace too. I had a Mountain Ash on the farm right outside my bedroom window but it was downed by a storm and it broke my heart. I loved that tree. Mine wasn't as big as yours in the picture. Yours is huge! Beautiful gradient color change too. My purple cone flowers are blooming better now than all summer. I don't think they like humidity.
