Just Like Magic

Last June when I got a new computer..I tried to load my very old obsolete Photoshop Elements on it.  It kept telling me that the scan disks were full.  ( Note>> It was so old it was called Photoshop Elements 2.0)  It loaded just fine on my laptop..but it just would not load on the new computer.  FRUSTRATION.

I had my baby brother look at it..he said “ Maybe you should just buy a new Photoshop program.”

Duh..I guess so..I have lots of photographs that I would like to repair over the winter.

Far Guy and I went to Wally World..and I picked up Photoshop 9.   As we were going through the checkout..a loud alarm began to sound.  The cashier quickly put her hand over the ear damaging noise coming out of the plastic case that was enclosing my Photoshop 9.  She called for help..people were backing up in her lane.  It is a small town Wally World..only about three checkouts are open at any one time.   Far Guy said really loudly “ If we were real thieves I bet people would come over here faster.”   We waited and waited.  Half the people in the store were staring at us.  Some were waving like Blog Reader Ann…and smiling!  Finally some supervisor takes off with the plastic box wailing down the aisles toward the electronics desk where it took three people to get it to stop making noise.  In the meanwhile we paid for it and Far Guy and I just sat and waited on one of those wire benches where old people wait and watch people go by.  FINALLY.  The supervisor shows up with our Photoshop 9…minus the alarm and the plastic box.  We walk toward the doors.   I have my receipt out..the buzzers go off..and we are apprehended and hauled off to jail. ( I just put that in there to see who was really reading.)  The greeter at the door shuts the alarm off and says “ I saw that you two had quite a time at the checkouts.”  She marked my receipt and we escaped to the car.

Well let me tell you..this new version is just a tad tougher to maneuver through..however I did change this

  To this!

Success is sweet..and so is Photoshop 9. Just like magic..it will make my bad photography better!   I am busy watching videos on the net..my daughter Jen took a class last year to learn how to do “stuff.”  Her class was filled with so many old people that the instructor barely got through the basics of how to use a computer, so she didn’t learn a thing, and suggested that I just watch videos.  So I am watching and taking notes and learning:)

WOW ! Doesnt Wollie World know how to desensatise their own security tags yet? thats what was going off they put the tag in the case which they arent suposed to it shouls be on the out side it is like a mini magnet and can damage the disc. I was in retail for 10 years in a large department store thats how I know lol . Papa has the new version of Photoshop and he loves to do what you did with photos and he likes to take old photos and kind of refurbish them ! Me I have no idea how to use it I just seem to like photos as they are lol. Have fun with your photoshop and have a wonderful day.

Funny girl!!! I can just see you two 'waitin' to be handcuffed and hauled off to the Big House!!! Heeehehe!!!

I got tickled one time. My DIL, The Latin Lovin' Hillbilly removed a mosquito bite off her daughter's face late one night on Photoshop. When the little Princess got up the next mornin' DIL said, "What's with that??? I removed it last night!"

Then she had her coffee and realized she was in the "real" world! Heeehehehe!

God bless and have a great time with your new toy!!!

Is it Elements you got or the whole thing? When I was working I had Photoshop and it was so hard to use that whenever I didn't use it for awhile I would forget how to use it. I have Picnik Professional for $25 a year, and I could have done what you did with it using the clone tool, which I used a lot in Photoshop.

Funny , funny!!!! I can just picture you standing there trying to look like nothing is happening!. You are right, if that was a robbery would security have been any faster?

Wow, Far Side. I'm impressed. You did a great job.

I am technically challenged. I would like to be able to do what you did with my photos.

Congratulations!

Why am I not surprised that something like that could happen at Wally World?

Nothing like making a scene at Wally World to get your day off right..hehe. The more you learn about Photoshop the more you'll love it. Those online tutorials are the greatest! Looking forward to seeing more results from your new toy.

Good story! Have fun with the new Photoshop. I have version 6 and should find tutorials to learn from. I only know how to do simple editing so far.

I need to buy a new copy of Photoshop; I've been without for a few months now. Was put off by the price, but it's so much fun to play with that I've decided it's worth the money.

Ugh...what an ordeal. I loved the comment about being taken to jail - I was paying attention!
I've played with photoshop a bit and really enjoyed being able to take things out of my pictures by cloning.

LOL - so it's the 'oldies' who are the criminals these days!

Is Photoshop very complicated? I fear I just don't have the time to learn it.

I too have an old copy of Photoshop Elements (so old it doesn't even have a number) I did buy a new one recently but I cannot raise the effort to get to grips with the quite different approach it takes on a number of levels. Thus my old copy lives side by side with my new one and I dread the day I need to change computers.

The expereince of getting the software was hard but the reward was great. How fun is the magic you can do now? I'm looking for an update on the program I have. I like your magic. I want some too.

I tried Photoshop Elements a few times...it was more than I wanted...it's gone now and I've moved on to other more simple programs...

You did good with your repair...

Oh Wally World, here we call it Wally Mart, after Whalley, which is a kind of down and out suburb.

We have one of those alarms on the pin pad at the tills, and each time I left cash, and returned, it went off. Ear shrieking, lung spitting kind of blaring noise. Then everyone has to search for the key, to turn it off. LOL.

I feel for you. I would have been beet red.

That is tooooo cool! I would ask you how you did that - - - erased some stuff and made the grass appear where the red car was - - - but one day will find that out for myself - - - when I get to retire!
