I ran across this old photograph..it was a long time ago.
Even after I was married, my Mom insisted on sibling photos..I think that this one was for the church. You know the kind, disguised as a Church Directory..a photographer sells photos to everyone in the church.
It was 1971 just before Christmas. I was wearing one of those heavy wool dress jackets, it was two shades of beige and had big gold buttons, it’s only saving feature is that it was fully lined. ( I was pregnant and it was roomy.) My baby brother must have got a new suit to graduate in the next spring. My other baby brother had a new red suit jacket and a bowl haircut. It looks like my baby sister has a sailor dress on.
We were all younger 40 years ago. I was 20, my baby brother was 17, my other baby brother was 11 and my baby sister was 5. Next month when I turn the big 60, my parents will have children that are in their 60’s, 50’s and 40’s:)
Great photo, I need to post a picture of my mom and I when she used to get her done up and I was with long hair!
Remember that sixty is the "new" fifty. That being said I'm a very young feeling sixty myself now....:)
Great to have a picture like that. And to be able to have your parents AND family all still living. Amazing!
They may be in their 60s, 50s and 40s, but I am sure they are just as distinguished
Wonderful photo !
We are all now at a great age, my mum would always say , still young enough to have fun and know better but old enough not to care lol My sister and brother are in their late 50s I in my mid forties ! Have a wonderful day !
Great picture! How young we once were!
Yes, I remember the church directory photos well. I always hated them, but I am thankful to have them now.
Enjoy your day, Connie.

I have that photo! Or at least one that looks just like it... Good memories. Sixty is a good thing. I hope this doesn't call for a blog name change!
About 15 years or so ago that bowl cut was called a mushroom cut:)
Our church didn't do those directories until I and most of my siblings had moved away. That's a great photo.
I sure am glad to have all of the old family photo's now. You all look great.
Now we know what was in the bird feeder at night. Thanks for the comment.
My sil just turned 60 she smoked and smoked got a cancer on her kidney..now she plays bingo like crazy, works and cannot believe that her oldest sibling my husband looks about 15 to 20 years younger, no smoking, drinking or bingoing..guess the new 60 is the new 50 but only if you take really good care of yourself!
I love the photo! Especially your glasses - they are totally representative of the times!!!
I have some church directory photos, too - but with my hubby and I and our boys.
You and your siblings are a good looking bunch - what an age span - wow!
Love your older photos. You always tell a great story to go along with them.
Scarey how time flies...yesterday my father asked me how old he is...when I said 88, he just lit up...wow he said...
