Early Chokecherries

We have some chokecherries coming up where they should not be.  My other baby brother may get them and transplant them to a better spot.  These are growing at the edge of our septic system...grass can grow there but not trees or shrubs.  There is also a Popple Tree in there that has to go.

The Chokecherries are getting ready to bloom...

The blooms are still tucked in between the leaves.  Hope they stay there for a while longer as we have been freezing at nights.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!  Far Guy is much improved...almost back to normal...huge sigh of relief.  He drove the new old car which he calls "Bertha" home from town today....her extra roomy trunk carried a box with a patio table...who knew she could haul big stuff!

What a relief to hear FG is doing better!
I was just out looking at different trees in the forest and I think am starting to figure out the differences. I know...duh. Right?
Our trees are all blossoming and starting to drop their petals. We had a frost in some areas yeseterday.

Great news. Far Guy is on the mend. And you have a bonus with his new old car. You can carry big boxes.

I think we are all breathing a sigh of relief. And glad to hear that he is reunited with Bertha.

Two years ago we went to a big new car show. I had my tape measure and I was trying to find a vehicle that would fit 3 grandchild car seats in the same seat (impossible). They also had some vintage vehicles displayed. I couldn't get under the ropes to measure, but I am pretty sure all those backseats could easily fit three of any size car seat and some of them might have allowed me to squeeze in a fourth!!! Those were the days. (of course there were no seatbelts, but those could be installed today!

I have never baked a pie or anything but I have eaten many a chokecherry over the years straight from the bush.

I'm so glad to hear that FG is feeling much better. Those old cars definitely had lots of trunk space.

Soooo glad FarGuy is doing better!!
I guess you need a new table after the last one exploded.
Sounds like there will need to be some transplanting this year.
Stay warm and safe! :)

Such great news that Far Guy is feeling better. I think he has lots of people praying for him. Bertha is the perfect name for his new old car. And they did make some great trunks in the older cars.
Blessings,
Betsy

There's nothing like the trunk of a big old car. I wish they made them like that still. I'm so glad Far Guy is feeling better. I know that makes you better too. ~Andrea xoxo

Now to find a drive-in movie theater to see how many kids you can sneak in, in the trunk.

So glad Far Guy is feeling better! Is that Big Bertha? LOL! Those older cars were like tanks and so solid you were really safe in them plus there was plenty of room!
