Wood

Far Guy finished his carving.

What began like this...

Progressed...

It is a black walnut yarn bowl!  It works to hold my yarn so it doesn't roll all over.
This is the wood on the back...I love the color variations in some of the black walnut.

In other wood news both levels of log stairs have been spring cleaned!

Yesterday I made it off of the stairs and around the corner headed for the living room.  Pictures were taken down and cleaned...the wall washed and the floor scrubbed...section by section the living room  will be my project this week.

I am impressed with your thorough spring house cleaning. My house is suffering from lack of care but I am getting out to see the spring wild flowers.

Tell Far Guy that I love the bowl. What a clever idea. Boy, when you spring clean you really spring clean. Very impressive.

I am impressed by your cleaning mojo. I did scrub the plastic that is covering my dining room and kitchen area floors yesterday. I can't wait to see the end of that mess.
The yarn bowl is just spectacular! They are handy aren't they? I've been using one lately myself. Araignee

What a gorgeous bowl for your yarn! That wood is amazing. I have a black walnut box holding extra flatware that my grandfather made for my mother about 80 years ago. He was a carpenter. That box is one of my treasurers, even though it's very plain and simple.

I have a yarn bowl. It cannot be compared to the work of art that you have now. Far Guy outdid himself and that wood is beautiful. What a treasure for you.
Your cleaning exhausts me. :-). You are making well use of your time confined whereas I read or knit or color. Do you want to come to my house after we are released?
Blessings,
Betsy

Your stairs are beautiful too! You put me to shame I have so much to do around here. I keep telling myself persistence will win out! I sure hope so! LOL!
Have a nice evening.

I gasped when I saw the bowl, then shook my head, I should've known. It is beautiful, walnut is a beautiful wood. We have a bookcase that is behind my computer that we made of walnut from trees we sawed from here.

My house is mostly wood too. I fine the wood terribly hard to clean.

I put the finish on all the boards myself so they are easier to clean:)

I love your yarn bowl. The wood is absolutely beautiful. I deep cleaned the bathrooms today but that's all the spring cleaning I have done!

What are you using to clean all the wood?

Beautiful bowl!

I love the bowl! It's so smooth I bet you don't really need the thread hole, but it's a nice touch.
