Maddie our middle granddaughter is 22 today.
Maddie and Hey Mikey by the Shiny Brite Tree Christmas 2019. We have not seen her since Christmas. She is a busy Mom with new baby Cee Cee and Hey Mikey...who we hear is potty trained mostly.
I sent Hey Mikey a Easter Card with some money inside and instructions to take Mama out for ice cream.
Seems like all the ice cream shops are closed in Michigan. I got this photo yesterday.
Looks like a great solution! They can have ice cream many times! His hair will grow...I guess his Grandpa gave him a buzz cut...it makes him look older.
Maddie and Savannah at my parents lake home in 2000 Maddie would have been about two years old in this photo.
Happy Birthday Maddie!
Love you lots!
Grandma
Awwww. First of all 2000 doesn't feel like it's 20 years ago, I thought it was just a few years ago that we all worried about the Y2 thing. Cute pictures, and no, ice cream places aren't open here in Michigan, except for drive through. I think they got more bang for your buck doing it the way they did!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos! I could use that tub of ice cream right now. That's how my parents always bought theirs. I still have the ones that Dad used to keep his quilting scraps in. Araignee
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Maddie! It seems just like yesterday that Hey Mikey was born, and now he's on his way to being a young man! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maddie! Hope your day is special.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe 2000 is 20 years ago either! You have such a lovely family.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Maddie! Love that picture of Hey Mikey with the gallon of ice cream. A great solution.
ReplyDeletesomewhere on the net, I found a site that had listed many, many 'special' days. I used the days, made a card celebrating each day and sent to my youngest grandson. This took place over a year, signed each card "secret pal", we both loved this!
ReplyDeleteAwwww... what beautiful pictures, Connie. Happy Birthday Maddie!! Hey Mikey looks VERY thrilled with that big jug of ice cream. Those smiles are worth a million dollar$ on the little ones like that!!! Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maddie! Wow! 2000 was 20 years ago! It doesn't seem possible. I love their solution to the ice cream dilema. When our boys were home we went through 2-3 ice cream buckets a week. We were great ice cream lovers but we don't eat much anymore.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Happy birthday! Aloha from Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Maddie! I hope she kept a few of Hey Mikey’s beautiful curls.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Maddie! That ice cream photo is precious... love the look on Hey Mikey's face! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maddie! That is a wonderful picture. And in the picture of Mikey with the ice cream he has the same smile I get when I see ice cream.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Maddie! I'm sure she and Little MIkey will enjoy the ice cream...maybe with some birthday cake. :)
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay well!
My only granddaughter and you middle granddaughter share a birthday. Happy Birthday, Maddie.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Maddie. We just ordered birthday presents for our soon to be four year old boy. It won't get there by the 20th but this little guy will celebrate every day for the week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos of what looked like aa pretty girl's birthday
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maddie. I just wish you hadn't cut all Mikey's curls off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures of dear Maddie and Hey Mikey. I'm getting to feel like I know them! Happy Birthday to your Maddie. Such cute pics including the older ones too. Always fun to celebrate birthdays, especially with big tubs of delish ice cream! Had to go to a medical center today to see an ostomy nurse...wore a mask...so hot breathing thru those things...fogged up my glasses too. Oh well...such is life these days. Take good care!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Maddie. Hope she had a great day.
