Fiber Art and more

Some more items have been finished.

This one came together nicely the join is hardly noticeable.   I think it might be a little large...I really need someone to try it on besides me.   I does fit over my head nicely and  can be tucked into a coat or worn around your neck.  The yarn is Sheepjes  Cotton and Acrylic every two rows a different color...so the possibilities are endless.

Another red cowl/shawl was finished and blocked.

I love this pattern.

The yarn drapes beautifully.  This yarn is Incan Spice;  Extra fine merino, baby alpaca, silk and yak.

We made it through another Thursday.  Far Guy went to get his infusion while I went to pick up our grocery order...this week no ranch salad dressing, no ammonia and no outshine fruit bars.  I stopped by the meat shop and ordered some hamburger and several roasts for the freezer.  You call their number and they bring out the meat.   I went by the bank.   I waited for Far Guy in the Parking lot of the Clinic...spent my time disinfecting groceries.   I disinfect them and put them in my own bags.  We should be good for another week.

Groceries have to be ordered early Monday for pickup on Thursday.  No one asked me but if I were in the grocery business I would hire the people necessary to keep the delivery times within 24 hours.   I know the grocery business is all about volume...a little more customer service to increase that volume would be a good thing.

We are both feeling just fine as frog hair:)

Glad you're feeling fine as frog hair. I have not used the grocery pickup option yet. I don't know why. It makes some sense, but I don't think I can be organized enough to know 4 days ahead what I want. But in these days maybe it's less about what I want and more about what I can get.

That really is a lovely pattern and reminds me of a batwing somehow. I would ask you how you two are doing, but being fine as frog hair is quite descriptive. :-)

Fine as frog hair - that saying made me smile and fondly remember a teacher I used to work with. He always said that. Our grocery store online ordering lets you choose the day and time, allowing for at least 3 hours before pickup. It's been pretty handy so far.

I’ve used the grocery pickup service once and will definitely use it again. The red shawl is gorgeous!

That's a beautiful shawl! I love red.
It takes two weeks to get a grocery order here. It's like playing a video game trying to get online to get an order in. I have to get up early or check in in the middle of the night to get a slot. Araignee

Your shawl and your cowl are both divine! The red one is stunning! You need to start selling on Etsy! They pay good money for hand made items. I go pick up my groceries today when the weather is supposed to be dicey....say a prayer for me!
Glad you got through all your errands safely and Far Guy got his infusion. It's always a good feeling to have the pantry stocked! Have a relaxing day!

The cowl and shawl are both gorgeous. What was the pattern for the shawl? It looks like a good one for the prayer shawl ministry.
I've started preparing another grocery list but I'm afraid I'll actually need to go inside this time. So many items aren't available on the pickup orders. I would like a box of Minute Rice, some pasta and hand soap. None can be purchased online.
I thought I had heard most of the midwestern zingers, but I've never heard "fine as frogs hair!" I'm glad you both are though. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

Frogs have hair? Who knew? Good to hear you're both staying well.

Both cowl and shawl are beautiful!

Pretty cowl and shawl. You have really been going to town on the crocheting!
I've heard some grocery stores here you can have to wait two weeks or more to get a slot. Three days doesn't sound bad.
Fine aa frog hair. Now I haven't heard that one--LOL! :)

Frog Hair. I like that. My Grandma used to say Chicken Lips and other fun things.

I guess Far Guy could be your model.:) The red is a gorgeous color. I really enjoy seeing the colors you pick and your work is so very pretty.

"Frog hair" is making me laugh. That's a new one for me.
That red yarn sounds like a very exotic blend and the result is beautiful.
We are still doing in person shopping and will switch back to one a week. Our super market is only three blocks away, early Thursday Senior shopping has very few customers, and I like to pick out my own stuff. Masks and gloves on everyone now.

A shawl made with yarn from yaks and alpacas with some silk and merino ( although I have no idea what merino is. A kind of sheep I'm guessing) anyway, a shawl like that would be a treasure for sure. You make wonderful things. I'm so glad you're both keeping healthy.

You create so many pretty things....it is amazing. I love them all. Glad your day in town and at the store went well once again for both of you. Take good care of each other.

I, too, am laughing about the frog hair (never heard it before)! Your shawls are both gorgeous. You have a wonderful talent there, and the lucky recipients must be very grateful for that.
Stay safe, Mxx

I like the way you put that: "fiber art." That Incan Spice color really pops!

Glad you managed to finish more of your projects, and made it safely through another Thursday trip to town.

Here you either have to just go to local shops and pick stuff up, have a pre-existing order with someone (like we now do with our local fruit and veg shop) or order things from online places like specialty shops or Amazon pantry. If you're lucky enough to manage to get a delivery slot from an actual grocery store, you have to wait several weeks for your delivery, at which point you have no idea what may or may not be available.
