Almost a Wrap

One more gift to pick up and wrap and then I am done.

All the pumpkin bread and fudge has been delivered to relatives and neighbors.  A few 2017 woodcarved ornaments to special people have been delivered.  Not sure what I am forgetting.

I have one “from the heart project” that may or may not be completed…I will give it my best.

I am tired.  It is cold here…and snowy.  I could use a long winters nap…or hibernation til spring.

This is a crock

I should dust…shovel snow…sleep…stress makes me sleepy and then nothing is accomplished.

A long time friend has a birthday party today…she is 100 years old.  I hope to attend the party.

Our niece Megan and her husband Frank have had a sad week.  Frank’s father died  suddenly last Tuesday he was 68 years old.  The funeral is today. We will send a card to let them know we are thinking of them.

Anniversaries, birthdays, deaths, Doctor’s appointments and Christmas preparations…what a week.

I am so ready to crawl in my hole and hibernate until Spring. Merry Christmas to you and Far Guy.

Very sad news for your niece; my deepest sympathy.
I hope you will feel like attending the birthday party. It is rainy and very foggy here today - good weather for napping! lol

So sad to hear of one so young passing away. I am with you about the stress. Please remember to take care of yourself during this season of busyness. :-)

We are not done but we can figure things out I guess. Our Chicago area kids haven't decided on when they are going to come. They may back out of it altogether. We will just ship presents after Christmas if so. It is so darn cold that we won't go anywhere today. That age of 68 is too close to home for me. It is a sad thing to have happen at Christmas.

As tired as I am, I would think sleep would come easily, but it didn't last night. Is it stress or excitement? My lists are getting crossed off, even as I make more.
Today is simple - no parties, no big meals, no one else to take care of, just making the Swedish cardamom bread for Christmas morning.
Christmas is almost here. Then there will be plenty of time for resting, but life will still impose itself with doses of reality even during the merriment.
Peace be with you.

I so understand...stress is starting to get me down. I have decided this the last year I'm hosting Christmas and Christmas eve...it's too much for me anymore. All my children are middle aged it's time they take over.

Rest as soon as you can, Connie!

Stress exhausts me, too. So sorry about your niece's FIL--and only 68! I hope you make it to the party today. Be nice to have something fun to celebrate--100 years! Stay warm. :)

As much as I love Christmas it does cause some stress and wears a person out trying to get so much done. It seems like the older I get the slower I am at getting things accomplished! Hope you get some rest and enjoy the holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I haven't gotten nearly as much done as you and I'm tired! Christmas can be joyous but also sad remembering those who aren't there to share it with us anymore. I never got any lights outside this year...that's a first.

Sometimes when Christmas gets here we're all poohed out.

I'm worn out too! :) It looks and sounds like it's cold up there. Is Jinx just a Christmas gift, or one of those traveling fellows that you will send on to someone else? Just wondering. I may have missed something. He is showing up in funny places around your house. He's cute too.

Yes, sometimes it is just a bit too much. Get that fireplace going and make a nice cup of cocoa!

You got a lot done and now it's time to relax and rest. I hope you and Far Guy have a happy Christmas and all the very best in 2018.

Unfortunately death does not take a break for Christmas, and 68 seems far too young. I think you deserve a long nap and a nice relaxing break. Well I think we all do. I'm trying to get a Christmas present finished tonight, so I won't be doing it last thing on Christmas Eve, which is a family tradition I am trying to discontinue. I remember my mother doing last minute sewing on Christmas eve, and us sewing a fishing net around a home made frame to make a hockey net, among other things. It remains to be seen if I get this project done.
