Jen had a book and showed it to me. Needless to say I ordered a couple from Amazon...one for me and one for my friend Susie. I hope she is still talking to me after working in the book.
It is a murder mystery with clues and 46,600 possibilities.
Jen solved the puzzle...I have not...it is all consuming...but I put it down a couple of days ago to give it a rest! Noah also has a book.
The Wildfire Smoke is awful. It gave me a headache. We are lucky to have Air Conditioning and two air purifiers in our home.
Far Guy had his weekly infusion and I ran errands...paint for the trim around the new screen door, to the accountant for tax advice, Aldi, gas and a car wash, the bank, Walmart for a grocery pickup and the Meat Market.
I saw a gal holding a sign that said 20 ribeyes for $39.99 on a street corner. There was a truck in a nearby parking lot...called Backyard Butchers. Well they try to upsell you from the tiny paper thin ribeyes...dinkiest rib eyes I have ever seen. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is...lesson learned. What a waste of time....I know where to buy good meat at the local meat market.
Minnesota weather: Smoky air. High 87F or 31C Low 71F or 22C
What's Cooking: Far Guy made eggs and potatoes:)
Far Side
Fortunately, I have been south of the path of the smoke thus far.
ReplyDeleteWe get those meat salesmen stopping by on occasion. I've never bought any from them though because I'm pretty particular about my steaks and I figured to be that cheap, they wouldn't meet my standards.
That sounds like an interesting book. I'm clueless...LOL! I'm not good at all at solving mysteries of any sorts. I have finally saw some baby deer. It's been hot & humid here.
ReplyDeleteGood grief. I saw the same ad here and wondered. Well, I’ll wonder no more. Glad you filled us in on the scam.
ReplyDeleteI’ll think about the book. But I doubt I could solve it.
Song for you this week is …Smoke gets in your eyes!!
That book sounds very intriguing and fun. I hope that wildfire smoke lessens soon. I have a friend who traveled to Chicago for work, and she said the air was so brown and made her eyes burn.
ReplyDeleteAll Ohio is also under an air pollution warning because of the fires in Canada. For a while Toledo, my home town, had the worst air pollution in the world.
ReplyDeleteThat intrigued me so much so I just had to buy that book/workbook to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found something to keep you occupied while indoors. So far the smoke hasnt been too bad here in Alberta.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds interesting but I am not sure I am ready for that kind of commitment, lol.
ReplyDeleteI used to love logic elimination puzzles....and it sounds like the author decided to expand one of those. The information I saw said the book was addictive....my heart would be in this, but not certain my brain could keep track of it all! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWe had a short break today from the smoke for a. time. Yesterday I think our air was 240, at its worst certainly not as bad as you must have had it.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks to that puzzle book. My new phone is puzzle enough.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an interesting book...would probably take me a good while on this puzzle book. Praying for all who are in the path of the smoke...
ReplyDeleteWe have a red sun and terrible smoke and it is supposed to last through Sunday. Lots of people wearing masks today when I went to the store. The grands wanted to be outside in the pool and we said nope , not now so we played games and cards!
ReplyDeleteI hope farguy stays in out of this junk from Canada!
I don't read mysteries. I DO LIKE HISTORICAL FICTION.
ReplyDeleteWe got a little reprieve from the smoke this afternoon when the wind blew in...but the forecast says we might be smelling smoke again tomorrow and Sunday. Oh joy. Stay in and stay away from the smoky air.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, would not be able to figure out who the killer was. When we used to play Clue as a family I got so frustrated trying to remember who had what in which room. AAARG.
ReplyDeleteI'm another believer in "If it seems too good to be true then it most likely is".
Good to know, as I almost bought one last week. I did buy a small dice word activity that we can play by ourselves (a one person activity).
