Downstairs Tree

The downstairs tree is done.  Complete. Two weeks to spare.  Yahoo for me.

Tree is done Dec 11

We have Bubble Lights and Merry Go Round Horses at the bottom of the tree.  We are still using the Christmas Tree Skirt that Far Guy’s Paternal Grandmother made, it is velvet and Far Guy used to use it as a cape.  We are still using our artificial rendition of a Colorado Blue Spruce that we bought in 1996.  Twenty years and it has served us well.

The Post Office was delivering packages on Sunday.

Camera ornament from Sue

This ornament is from our friend Sue in Indiana.  I love it!

The upstairs tree is still a work in progress. It needs a few more days.

It warmed up to snow but has turned cold again.

I don't need any Christmas ornaments, because I get to enjoy yours so much. And thanks for the comments about the norovirus. I promise I won't be preparing any food for awhile. I'm MUCH better today, though. :-)

Your downstairs tree is gorgeous. Snowed here too all weekend.

Your tree is beautiful! I love the ornament your friend sent you too....so appropriate for you. No snow here...just gray and rainy and cold but today the sun is out and going to be like 48 so maybe I could get a few more windows washed? It got cold so early I didn't get all my outside chores done. I didn't put up a big tree just little ones around the house with lights and today I'll put my Aunt's ceramic lighted tree in the front window. Stay warm and enjoy your gorgeous tree!

Lovely tree! Ours is up, and the lights on. Well actually it came with lights, but over the years various parts of various strings have died. We have spent hours trying to figure it out, to no avail. Therefore we have to add random other strings to fill in the gaps. We both agreed last night that we really like the tree with just the little white lights on it, glowing against the wall in the evening. Neither of us thought that it needed ornaments, but we will get them on there this week anyway.

Your tree is delightful! I love every inch of it!

You do much more decorating than I do. I used to do lots, not anymore. Good for you!

Such a lovely tree! We put up ours very late - only a few days before Christmas Eve.

All the work that goes into this lovely tree and you still do the upstairs one! Of course, shiny brites have to be kept safe and deserve their own display. ;)

The first lights my Dad bought were bubble lights.

So pretty and I bet each ornament has a story.

Your tree is lovely. I remember those bubble lights from my childhood....looked for some last year but didn't manage to find any.

Beautiful tree. Do you live in a log cabin?

Far Side of Fifty said...

No but it has a log cabin look and feel:)

The fun part of decorating is unwrapping and revisiting old ornaments and remembering their stories.

Your tree filled in quite well. I liked seeing your before picture earlier and now it is done. You have lots of ornaments of memories. We usually loose our tree skirt and have to put something else down. This year it was packed right in the box of the ornaments to keep everything together. We did finish our big tree today and I am glad that is done. So many boxes going up the stairs and them going back down with them.

Love your tree! And that camera ornament is too darn cute! I will have to be on the lookout for one for my g-daughter

Glad you're keeping warm. There's enough exercise involved in setting up those two trees to keep you toasty for a while!
