Wistful Wednesday: The Hunting Bus

My Father in law was an avid deer hunter.  So were his friends.  They all went together and bought a bus.  They hunted in Montana and Wyoming with that bus.

It was a guy thing.

My Father In Law Marvin, with his friends Sam and Ben.  I had the best time looking around this old photo..they had Nut Goodies..Campbell’s Soup and Folgers Coffee above them..and 7 Up and some kind of hard liquor…I noted they cut a coffee can up and were using it for an ash tray.  Ben was hardly ever seen without a cigar in his mouth.

They must have kept clean..here is Sam washing his feet.  Note the bunks for sleeping.

Looks like they played some cards.

Hunting Bus Three

I wonder how warm it was in that bus..this looks like a cold morning..but it must have been a successful hunt..one deer for each hunter:)

Not sure if I could catch a deer or not, but I do like the look of that bus. Great old photos, so full of atmosphere and information.

The fourth picture looks pretty hazy with smoke. Bet they came home with wonderful stories about 'the hunt'.

They look like they know how to have fun. Do people still have campers like that? Looks very cozy and warm to me! :-)

Great photos and memories - they created one of the first RVs. I bet they had a blast on their hunting trips.

Thanks for the tour of the hunting tour bus! Clearly they were Hunting Rock Stars!

Much better than the big canvas tents some hunters use, but then much more limited as to where you can go with it. Thinking of the smoke level in there makes me gag:)

Think of the stories that came out of those trips! They must have had a ball.

It was a different age. We could not make ourselves take time out to have fun as these guys did.

These are awesome pics. John and I both enjoyed this post very much. His dad and friends had a little hole in the wall house in northern MI and John went when he was a teen and was surprised how little hunting got done!!!
