Our experiment with the Amaryllis bulbs continued.
Jen and Far Guy found that the faster you dipped the bulbs in the wax the faster they were coated.
We used painters tape to seal off the tops of the bulb and then Jen spray painted them. There was a purple one but it went over to Maddie.
As you can see the red one has growth already.
It was a fun project.
We have a bunch of beautiful blooms.
Far Side
A fun project. The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Love it
ReplyDeleteAren't those wonderful to see when the outside is so wintry. The experiment is going very well.
ReplyDeleteSo, your experiment is working. Now I'm wondering how quickly that growth will become a flower.
ReplyDeleteThis Amaryllis series has been so interesting! And thanks for the info on the smell, I may actually get myself some Amaryllis next year. So cool!
ReplyDeleteMine has just finished! I shall miss it.
ReplyDeleteTotally amazing that you can paint the bulbs and they still produce beautiful blossoms. I would think it would be harful to them...but not so.
ReplyDeleteFun experiments! I can't wait to see how the rest do!

ReplyDeleteYAY! Something new and fun!
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful blooms in the painted bulbs. I enjoy reading about the interesting things you find to do. And the Lyme Disease...I know what you mean. I still have a scar from my darn tick bite eons ago. They cause a bunch of issues, don't they! I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteGoodnightGram
Gosh, that all worked pretty well! What a fun activity and it would make a great gift, too.
ReplyDeleteBlooms indors in winter are a treat, and yours are doubly colorful.
ReplyDeleteLooks good
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep them from floppingover?
ReplyDeletethese are so pretty.....what a neat idea! You folks come up with great new things to try.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteKaren, Nothing. One flopped over one day and the next day it was straight up again. I think if they get too warm they flop over...but that is just a thought.
