To the Post Office

Sunday afternoon we put our Christmas letter inside the Christmas Cards and we sealed them all up.  Monday I went to buy stamps, the cards had so much fru fru that they were heavy and needed more postage.

I bought one post office out of extra postage stamps and had to go to another post office to buy the rest of them...attach them and send them off in the mail.

I can cross a couple of things off my list.  I also mailed my far away cousins old photos of their family members.  Yes it would have been fun to visit my cousins in Tennessee,  Kansas, Alaska and Florida...but that was not happening.

My brothers have picked up their old photos, my sister still has a box full here.

I figured I was all done with that project WHEN my baby brother announced that he found another box or two of photographs while searching for some sewing material for Mom in her storage unit. He said I will be busy next Summer.

Seems like that movie Ground Hog Day except with me and photographs.

  1. Did you label the photos somehow? If so, what did you use & how did you do it?

  3. We had some snow and now it is pretty cold. 9 degrees this morning, which is fine but I'm not quite used to the cold yet!

    Ground hog day with photos!
My brother inherited all of my dad's slides and finally gave up after days and months of sorting and scanning.

I bet the Post Office was happy to see you! LOL!

  4. Oh my goodness, there must have been a lot of photos taken over the years.
Congrats on getting your letters and cards in the mail. I have yet to start and I only have a short list.

  5. You are so organized and disciplined. I admire that because you are a blessing to many - - those receiving cards, ornaments, and other things you create with your hands! You don't waste a minute God has given you. Plus you are smart to rest when your body needs it so you can do the things you love later.
Thank you once again for sharing your days with us!

  6. My Christmas cards should be ready to pick up today, so I probably should get the address labels printed. And a short letter needs to be written. I don't send out as many as many folks.

  10. Wow! You've gotten a lot done already. Our cards went out on Friday. That's a relief, although I do still have to sign the ones for the mailbox at church. It's a great way to save postage! I do still have to mail a package to our Montana kids. I better get on the ball and get that done this week.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  13. I’m so far behind this year thanks to my nagging back pain. I doubt I’ll put many decorations out or mail too many cards.

  19. I have spent the last few days doing Christmas Cards, I do send out quiet a lot by some peoples standards and not many by other peoples standards.

  20. We won't have Christmas visitors this year so we will share all of our things with our blogger friends. That gives us time to get all our cherished decorations up. Ground hog day, yes it is. I hope people know how much time is involved in all of that. May brothers say they want nothing but I bet if I send things they really would like them. Take care, your north migration must be coming soon.

  24. The Ground Hog day analogy is funny! Your family is so lucky to have you doing all that work. I have a 2nd cousin that did that in our family but won't share it because she said she paid for Ancestry and she did all the work. I would have donated had I known but with her attitude...I'll pass. LOL!
