Retreat 2022

I have known all the gals at retreat for years.  They are all friends of our youngest daughter Jen.

This year we are at a new venue that is owned by Jen and her friend Jamie, they bought the property last Spring.

The gals here are varied in their interests and talents. English Teacher, Chemistry Teacher, Physical Therapist, Nurse Practitioner, Social Worker, a Director of Patient Services and a Learning Specialist.

There are card makers, scrapbookers, quilt makers, digital bookmakers and just about everything in between.

It is a great place to gather!  There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The food has been awesome; tacos, loaded baked potatoes and chicken with cheese and bacon and roasted parsnips and carrots.

The view from my spot.

Headed home soon.

I love this! Crafters are usually some of the best people in the world!
Questions - - - do they rent the place out to others holding retreats or is it just for their families to use as a getaway? (I am not asking for personal reasons since I live in TN.). Just curious.
Seems like Far Guy has been known to deliver food. Did he do that this year or did you all take your own food - - or each responsible for providing certain meals?
Are the tables and chairs provided for crafters?
I know you have had lots of un together. Thankful you got to do that.

Lynda, Gather in Laporte is a rental. You can find it on Airb&b or VRBO it can be rented by groups or families. Just a great space to gather many people! Tables and comfy computer chairs and wheeled carts are provided for scrapbook/crafter gatherings.
Far Guy made Caramel Rolls. Andy made pulled pork. Jen buys all the food and it is part of the cost of your stay. Everyone brings snacks to share.
All the gals pitch in for cleanup after meals.

Oh gosh Connie, you are so blessed to be there....beautiful surroundings...friendly people...great work spaces...delicious food. I wish I was there too, working on a project. Your daughter is quite the entrepreneur. Good for her! I wish her every success in her endeavors.

I commented on today's (Monday), post before I read this one. Now I know that Jen and her friend own it. That makes it even more special. Such a lovely time to all spend together with dear friends as you make things with your own special talents. How I would love to be part of such a group. It's a beautiful, beautifulplace.
Blessings,
Betsy

What a great retreat place and I like the fact that everyone does their own thing.

Thank you for the information about the place and the other questions I asked. What a blessing to have that wonderful girl time as well as time to relax from the daily routine. So thankful you got to do some extra-special "normal" as it used to be before 2020 with the ones you love.

Makes me nostalgic for the days I went to card classes (with mostly the same ladies). Just fun to be with a group of creative people all having fun together. :)
